While I have just met a few Da Capo fans recently, I dont really think it is getting the respect it deserves. Most people who have a problem with it argue that it's way too short (even though it has 2 seasons, each with 26 episodes, its not that short...) and that the character relationships in the anime *cough* suck *cough* which I totally disagree with. If you have not watched this anime before, you probably don't know what im talking about... lets just say there is a certain "bother-sister relationship" that most people think is completely stupid. I just think those people should watch more than the first few episodes, so that they can actually see the great storyline in the anime, along with the great and colorful characters. (Oh yeah, I encourage all of you to check it out too! The anime is Da Capo, which is a comedy/romance genre.)

Mushishi definitely. That anime was amazing. It's very serious and tells an amazing story. It has it's lighthearted moments but really it was deep and intelligent and I think that deter's a lot of people from seeing it. Also, the opening music is great.

That and I'll agree with Azrael about Revolutionary Girl Utena. That was a great show with great characters. The ending screwed with my head for a while too. They made a full movie that had gorgeous artwork. Everyone should check it out.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot about this. 'Haibane Renmei'. Show was amazing. Leaves you with so many juicy questions that you want answered, but still leaves you feeling satisfied. 13 eps of pure, unadulterated epic win. Generally a serious anime that has a cute comedic side. It shines in how it manages to stay lighthearted while filling the atmosphere with sadness. Watch it now.

I wouldn't say Mushishi was underrated as it was underviewed. Everyone who has seen it says nothing but positive things about it.... or at least from what I hear from other people

I don't see much of things being underrated around here. Most things are overrated and a single person makes it underrated by flaming up a storm about it.

Blue Gender was on [AS] but it was really late, so most people missed that gem. I watched as many 4 times, it was great everytime.

Ahhh finnaly finished it.
NieA Under 7. Great anime, same makers as Lain, comes off as a comedy with no plot at firs but in the end it has a great many messages and is very....Nice.

Note: D.Gray-man is actually just another Shonen, read the manga and i gotta say, other than a little more gore and feelings, the story progresses into just another Shonen.
But i have to say that it has some really good parts aswell.
