Lol, Excel, she didn't die, well I guess unless you count the first two times, but the story was reset so she was alive at the end, oh, and did Robin die, I thought she came back at the end?
Anyway, Spike, such a cool character, probably on the coolest anime characters, plus Tabris(final angel from Evangelion), it was needed for the storyline, but man I loved that character
