What makes it worse is its based on a true story! Other than that <major spolier ahead> the band of the hawk from Berserk. God damn... I never saw that coming. I remember furiously looking for another episode, thinking my hong konk bootleg left off the last episode or something. I just couldn't beleive that was it. Pirotess and Ashram from Lodoss War made me sad. Pirotess was one of fav characters, but I do have a dark elf fetish. Motoko from Kanon. The new version makes me even sadder. Hughes from FMA. He was my favorite friggen character in that rotten series too. Aside from those, I'm actually content with most character's deaths in anime. One of the things I enjoy about anime is the unpredictability of it.

I suppose that is true for me as well. I was impressed by Victory Gundam's complete lack of fear for killing off characters. The four episodes I own on Laserdisc have three main characters die. And being attacked by a giant robot tire? That's some crazy shit. Oh, and Spike didn't die...he became enlightened!
