I don't know if anyone else remembers Touch, but it really killed the series for me when Kazuya died. It took away the central conflict of the series thus far: Tatsuya and Kazuya, twin brothers, competing for the affections of their best friend Minami. Just when the plot was getting interesting too, Kazuya, the clear favorite in the eyes of all their family and friends, had just announced to Minami his intention to apply to her father for her hand in marriage after winning the Koshien (kind of a dick move, but whatever), and Tatsuya, who Minami herself actually preferred, but whom even he himself doubted his ability to make her happy, had finally decided to "hit back" as his friend had been trying to get him to do, and make his own attempt to win her. It was at a crucial stage in the plot, when suddenly Kazuya dies and the whole point of the series changed. It became simply another story of the main character trying to get to Koshien for the sake of his dead family / friend / whatever, of which the author, Mitsuru Adachi, already has several. It took away what made the series interesting and unique, and I found soon after that I simply wasn't all that interested anymore, and dropped the series.

Jiraiya..Pain..Sasori and Deidara...But they got revived so... (:
