None. Then the movies we know and love wouldn't be what they are. Just like the movies from Japan or Korea wouldn't be what I love if the actors changed.

I want to see more Asian Actors making a breakthrough in Hollywood though. Actors that don't get typecast into typical martial arts movies. Which I don't mind but it'd be nice to let them show that they can be versatile.

you guys have a good point there... i think asians deserve to be known worldwide.. we're getting there... little by little i think it will happen...

i'm just basing my question on the fact that there are a lot of asian movies with american versions (the asian movie being the original version) like "The Ring" and "The Grudge"... which i think brought out the superiority of Asian horror movies because comparing the american and asian versions, i think the asian versions were way better...

who knows? an Asian "Titanic" or an Asian "If Only" may outdo the original american version -- that's how much i believe in asian talent...

I believe in Asian talent. But I can never believe that an Asian remake will ever get that big. And Titanic is terrible comparison because the movie was made by the characters Jack and Rose. These characters were made legends by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Just like Pirates of the Caribbean. I can't see ANYBODY playing Jack Sparrow as brilliantly as Johnny Depp. So no, I can't agree with a remake (of any origin) outdoing an original.

As for the American remakes. Eh.... I like the Asian version of the horror movies better. Granted the effects are better in the American versions, but I'd still chose the original Asian.

But for best horror movies... I'm sorry I do know two countries that outdo both American and Asian. Spain and Mexico. Guillermo Del Toro (director of Pan's Labyrinth) directed El Orfanato "the Orphanage" and let me tell you it has been a very long time since I see a movie that makes me jump.

So all in all, I believe in that Asian actors definetly have the talent to crossover. But I don't believe in taking movies that are all ready perfect and remaking them. Still, movies are made epic and memorable by the actors/esses that made the role epic and memorable. You take away the original actors, producers, and director then you basically kill the spirit of the movie.

Don't get me wrong. The topic is a cute fantasy. I myself would love to see Rain as a pirate.

none . American movies are totally different, love stories do not keep you in suspense, like it's in Asian movies. Besides, american teen romance comedies have a lot m-f intimacy, and kiss is something normal. In asian mov. the kiss is sth you're waiting for very often
