Alright students, listen up. Place your Zanpakutous in the cubbies cause you wont use them here, if you want to learn swordplay thats across the hall with Hozu-sensei....

Now then I will be teaching you Kido, the history, Bakudo, Hado, other techniques not mentioned and tricks on how to execute these abilities without hesitation or error.

*points finger at wall, shoots lightning at it and blows a hole through it*

Our first lesson will take place in the court yard because I don't believe in teaching in a room.

Kido. What is kido, how many different kido are there, whats the purpose of kido? Im sure you all want to start learning how to attack and whatnot im sure, but we must learn the definition and boring stuff first, so lets move on.


Kido are spells are used by shinigami for various purposes. Spells exist for attacking, binding, and healing. Like conventional magic, most of these spells require an incantation of some sort to activate their effect. They are performed through channeling spirit energy, which the incantation then focuses into a specific effect. The principle behind kido and channeling spirit energy in general is a mental image of throwing oneself within a darkly-colored circle.

Kido has 4 steps:
Incantation
Category (Destruction or Binding)
Its Number
Its Name

The number of a spell determines the difficultly of casting it correctly and effectively (#1 is simple to cast, #99 is incredibly difficult). With sufficient training, the first step can be bypassed, allowing spells to be used in combat quickly. Doing so, however, lessens the spell's effect, the degree of which is dependent upon the skill of the caster. Bypassing the incantation is also more difficult for higher-numbered spells, as casting them is already fairly difficult even with the full verbal component. The power of kido spells varies on the skill of the user; even a low-level kido spell can be utterly devastating when utilized by a sufficiently powerful user.

Kido can also be combined with other forms of combat to form unique abilities, such as legendary Shinigami, Yoruichi Shihouin's flash cry technique, which combines kido energy and hand-to-hand combat to concentrate spiritual power at the back and shoulders for quicker movement and increased attack power. Empty Cicada Shell is another technique where u sacrifice a piece of your clothes to escape an attack, this is basically the equivalent of Kawarimi no Jutsu in Naruto.

The maximum level of spells each seat can use

Captain - All Spells
Vice-Captain - Up to 70
3rd - Up to 50
4th - Up to 30
5th and below - Up to 20

This means a 5th seat can only use level 20 spells and below, 4th seat is restricted to level 30 spells, 3rd is level 50, VC is level 70, and Captain can use them all

P.S. This ability restriction is not for everyone. Some Shinigami can use higher level spells but as a general rule this restriction should be followed

First Lesson: Control

Here is a light bulb. *hold up light bulb* Our first objective is to control and move our energy to our hand and release an even steady flow in order to make the bulb light up.

your lucky you weren't seriously injured.

if you fail to gather the proper amount of energy or recite the incantation properly you can hurt your self

Alright Lesson Two:

Bakudo and Hado and the 2 most commonly used types of Kido, the 3rd is healing and that is used by the 4th division so i wont get into that.

Back to what i was saying, Bakudo, or Way of Binding, and Hado, or Way of Destruction, are what i will be teaching. The first thing I will teach you is Hado # 1 Thrust, the easiest of all Kido.

Alright, heres a beginners list of Hado

1. Thrust - Pushes the target away from the caster.

2. Lift – launches the target into the air

3. Slam – Slams the target to the ground

4. White Lightning - Fires a concentrated bolt of lightning from the caster's forefinger.

5. Water Bullet – creates a bullet out of the moisture in the air and fires it at the target at high speed

6. Impale – A cone shaped object suddenly protrudes from the ground

7. Acid – fires a blob of acid out of the casters palm giving a chemical burn to whatever it touches

8. Torch – Sets a small fire on the target

9. Blast – a small explosion happens on the exterior of the target

10. Pursuit – Sends a small ball of energy that hones on the target exploding upon contact with anything

Once you complete all of these with sufficient skill i will place an intermediate list

interesting any incantations to go with them, or specific way to perform the kido spell? (even though i know most of these already)
