Okay my parents are strict but they have good discipline. Compared to my friends and other families. Discipline is a forbidden word in a lot of households. What kind of parent lets their child and their friends drink at a sweet sixteen party? What kind of parent lets their child go to someone's house that the parent hasn't checked out and doesn't even know? What kind of parent takes their three year old to see the texas chainsaw massacre? What kind of parent lets her 6 and 7 year old children watch movies with violence, porn, and cursing? What kind of parent lets their child tell them they're stupid and can't do anything right after the parent gave them a car and the parent gets them another car? What kind of parent lets their 16 or 17 year old son go out after school or early in the day and not come back until 1:00am with the parent having no ideal where he is even though he can get hurt, raped, shot, stabbed, or killed just as easily as their 15 soon-to-be 16 year old daughter can? The mother and father of a child should not be called parents anymore, they should be called something else because they're not parenting their kids. They don't care!!!! If they did, they would do everything in their power to keep their child safe whether it makes their child angry or not. Parents these days are lazy these days, but that's just my view of the U.S. I don't know what other countries are like but most of the time they respect and feel very highly of their elders. They do everything they're told and don't talk back. It depends on the culture and if the kids are raised with morals. But i think that too many people are having kids and aren't ready for them and that why there are so many kids that are undisciplined and in so much trouble. there are too many kids on the streets and not at home. there are too many parents trying to be their kids friends rather than their parents. Until parents start doing what they're supposed to do (which will probably never happen) there is always going to be problems in the society and everywhere else. For the parents who DO raise their kids, they and their kids will have to suffer because of the parent who don't raise their kids. And i'm on of those kids who has to suffer and deal with what I feel as "extra peer pressure."

I think in the majority of house holds in America have less discipline then they use to but in other country's and people of different ethnic groups have more discipline, well at least more then people in America.

True drinking at 16 is bad but...I see 13 year olds out on a Friday night in Liverpool city center!! Makes me sick to think thats someones child an they could be beaten raped or run over and no one would be any the wiser

Can you spell disappearing?

Stupid emos, goths, whores, sluts, tramps, jocks, etc.
Yeah, but so are morals.

ahh, I just noticed the title was missing a P
That's never happened to me before

You think you're the only one who has been 'beaten' with a belt? Considering the way you're talking, I'd figure you'd suck it up and deem it 'discipline'

The beating part for acting wrong was discipline, the beatings I got when she just got pissed off at me, were the traumatizing ones, and my mother was a constantly angry person

^Well, I don't really think parents should be as strict as mine, that would suck for most kids, but they should be more assertive and less.......passive

I agree. Many people are starting to get lazy, arrogent, and selfish. Look at many celeberties these days. They're drunk-driving and stealing things (not all of them are like that, of course.).
I also agree that parents who dont care about their children's futures shouldnt be called parents. They're starting to be spoiled and all selfish. If they dont mature enough now, they will just become useless adults.

Discipline is falling, personal responsibility is falling, and so are morals. One day this world is going to be a huge mess.

Yes I agree. But the adults are babying kids more and more. I'm very critical on the way kids are bought up. Some parents are lucky that their kids naturally have good morals but I see younger and younger kids trying to be what they are not. Emo wannabes should just kill themselves and I would care less. They are just begging for attention with "sympathy" rather than earning it.

And frankly I believe the slutty dressing girls at a young age probably deserved to get raped. I would feel no sympathy. Their fault for attracting it and I wouldn't give two cents to think what they are going through. Maybe that'll teach them to be alittle more conservative.
