The jokes in Lucky Star will probably fly past the common viewer. Unless they change the jokes but then it wouldn't match with their actions and such since Konata explains everything. Personally I don't think it would be that good. It's like making Hayate no Gotoku! into an English dub. NOTHING will make sense.

i dont really like it when they dub the anime.. it makes their reactions abnormal cause of the voices.. its much cooler when its in japanese.. and i like aya hirano the one who voices konata.. she has a cool voice..

My pointers.

- Konata spoken in English: no emphasis on anything, occasionally on 'ko' or 'ta'. (I assume the Japanese version puts emphasis on 'na'.)
- Kagami spoken in English: emphasis on 'ka'. (I assume the Japanese version puts emphasis on 'ga'.)
- Tsukasa and Miyuki are spoken normally.
- -san, -chan, and -sama suffixes retained, albeit slightly awkward sounding, though is adaptable to some.
- Contains liner notes for whatever references to see before the episode starts. This can either be a good thing or a bad thing; it depends on whether you want references in real-time (as seen on fansubbing and on A.D. Vid Notes) or as a separate entity (Lucky Star Liner Notes).
- Voice acting is good. You can get more acting prowess from watching the full episodes rather than relying on a trailer. I have yet to watch the Japanese version for I have not bothered for fansubbing until late 2007. Sorry. Comparisons to come...hopefully.

My final verdict:
Worth the $23 bucks for those new to Lucky Star and some anime fans. Not recommended for purists (only going by what opinion says).

One more thing:
As much as it's hard for a Japanese-voices watcher to get used to the English voices...it happens vice-versa as well. I was an English-voices watcher and I was a bit queasy with the Japanese voices, but I have gotten used to that. Now I like both versions, no matter which is better. =)

It's not the worst or really that bad, it's okay, I wouldn't go nuts watching it.
