Then what would I call myself, "Little Miss No Land?"

call yourself an Earthling like i do... i do not consider myself of any race (tho im mostly asian since who knows what my ancestors might be)

Who ever came up with the name Earthling anyway? Its creepy.

I think it should be "Earthean"

The fact that we live there. Duh. Japanese live in Japan, Chinese live in China, Indians live in India, etc. I mean, it's not like we call ourselves Native Americans. Besides, Native Americans came from Asia. It's not like they were there from the beginning of time, either.

Native americans are known as native americans. And then there are the people that came from the USA, otherwise known as america. When they're born there, born, raised or whatever they jsut think/know/are told they're american since they were born there.

Your sense of unity with all humanity is admirable, but it would be rather odd if someone asked what your race was, and you replied with "I'm Earthling."

stating your race does not matter. we don't have to add any meaning to it although most people do.that doesn't matter anyway.but calling yourself/ourselves an Earthling? it may be odd but it can also be good

They are most likely called American because they are born in America. Take United States of America citizens for example while comparing it to Canada's citizens. United States of American sounds awkward so calling them American is just about right. Canada on the other hand is just perfect because it can convert to Canadian easily.
Moving away from the maple syrup, Native Americans were not what we call Americans. They will be Northern Americans at best. Besides, they are Native Americans for a reason. It is probably the same reasoning why Eskimos are not called Inuits by common tongue.
And with the use of common tongue, citizens of U.S. are known as Americans. Of course, there might be more to that but the basic idea is, no one really gives a damn why they are Americans, it is just widely accepted as they are. It is just like you calling your father "dad" even though that might not even be his real name. He might not have been your real father to begin with.

I think it is The States. Each State has its group of allowable behavior while the next one has a different set of behavior which gives each their own language accent on the voice and sometimes words that only mean something to someone from there.

a human is yet isnt a human... we are by no chance different from any of the other animals... yet we are different... a human is a human because we want to be known as humans in order to differ from the "animals" even though we are animals too.. hence.. a human is not a human. yet, since human is a animal, as one can argue, we call ourselves human in order to be more specific...

therefore, a human is yet isnt a human..
