One thing since we're about to expand around here, would probably to set some ground rules... Though it doesn't seem like we're getting anything out of line... but with increased participation, it would be good to setup a boundary to work within.

It's just a thought, as for what rules per-say, it's probably your stereotypical set of rules on any forum.^^

We should be taking an adaptive approach as soon as we setup the events/"games". But things that we are for sure gonna need in the future, should probably set in stone before we take large steps^^

see this is one problem I run into when doing alot of things. I cant think of any neccesary rules now but it never fails that something happens and I find out "oh I should have made a rule against that"

I agree, it always seems to be something that we never think of until it happens. I would start with a full "reitteration" of the formal CR rules already in place. Things such as, "Keep things PG-13 or better", "Keep things civil", "No bashing someone for their personal opinions"... things like that. Then, remember, you already have the basics laid out before you, the best thing to do from there is to think about customized rules, designed for this group, and apply them. Always remember, you can not lower the standards already set before you, however, you can always raise them to meet your level.

Of course, people do make mistakes, and that is fine, however, when a set of ground rules are set in stone, in place, and made publically viewable, it is each persons responsibility to familurize themselves with them and up-hold them. In this respect, transgressions are always inexcusable and the perp, able to be held accountable for their actions.

well said aj... just sound like my old man^^

Well malc... if you ever need to take off the stress loads, though it seems like you and romeo have it all down, adding mods would probably help. BUT we don't need that yet... add them when we start the with the events and games... As aj said, the standards are set before us, so if you ever feel the need to raise them to your standards feel free, and yes mistakes are meant to be learned from. None of us are perfect on the first try.

Just post up the rules in the group description the one that are on CR as of now... we can keep adding to it if things start to surface.

We're still in the calm before the storm, so don't get too anxious yet^^

also: you know... i've been think... maybe we could also reach out to other CR groups and start partnerships, AFTER we fix up the discussion event and some of the games... That way we can target those group's members to jump in on the discussion of the particular anime we're watching... So that might switch us off onto different branching paths... One week we might do an anime that's not so popular, the next we might go and discuss something more popular in the CR community... Thus we do a bit of everything^^

Although it seem like quite a bit of work will be involved for this partnership thing,it's not a bad idea.Anime Critics is always open to new ideas. But if we really want to do this partnership thing,we should do it after events and games thread are opened. One step at a time

I dont think we need to worry so much about rule breaking. So far,our forums looks good and none of the members create any havoc and even after all this events and games i still think things will remain the same, but at the same time rules would be good too.Normally,if any members open an identical thread,i send pms to them, though i am not sure whether they read it or not

This is all good information. Of course, we should never count our chips untill they are recieved, but always count our blessings. Yes, though it seems that the forums are doing alright now and on the right track so far, still, setting out the rules would be a good idea so that there is no excuse when something does happen. CYA... if any of you knows exactally what that means, though I will not spell it out. As for the partnership thing, I personally agree with romeo, though I believe it is a great idea and should be used in the future, right now however, I think its best to line our ducks in a row and get the cogs running smoothly with what we have so far before moving on to the next project. We dont want to bite off more than we can chew, though my eyes have always been bigger than my stumach. Of course, romeo, it sucks that you cant get a "read" notice when someone opens up the email you just sent them, you just have to take it on faith that your messages are read.

And lastly, spacewolves, you make me sound like an old man. Though I have always been a pepe, even as a kid, I am not THAT old. I mean come on man! Im on this site and even have a MySpace account! What old guy has that! Right? Seriously though, when it comes down to that kind of stuff, I have always been a no "BS" kind of guy. At work, people come to me simply because I get the job done, end of story... and cant stand excuses. And my work life is my work life, it stays there when I go home, same with my home life, it does not enter the job. Personal issues only create professional problems. The world is black and white to me, do and dont, right and wrong, good and bad... there is no grey matter in-between called "try". I think the rules thing is a good idea because people should always be held accountable for their actions and take responsibility. No matter what. And the best way to do that, is to remove "reasonable doubt". At least, for people who are not like me, it keeps them honest for the most part.

I don't think that rules are that important. Most members usually have an idea about what should not be done and what can be done. But setting ground rules is a good idea, with the members count increasing rapidly, one will never know when some lunatic member might go crazy and decide to wreck havoc here.

You know, ajpointless, you got off light. At least people will LISTEN to you..nobody would ever do that.Whenever I try to say something...I get stuff like this >> Children should be seen and never heard. That's even worst >__<
