The only Japanese music I listen is Luna Sea (I think they are the best band),Hyde, Utada Hikaru, Takako Matsu. Mostly some is because of anime or JDrama.

Hmm...well, a lot of people know Japanese music through anime, which is super popular.
Also, Japanese flows smoothly. The words are easy to pronounce and it sounds nice.
Maybe its just me who thinks that...I'm full Japanese.
Many people who aren't Japanese like J-Pop though.

It´s because Japan is popular...i think there is the japanese boom(which is getting on my nerves)thanks to anime...
And lots of the people who listen to japanese music didn´t hear other asian countries music before...(and they maybe don´t know there are other countries in Asia beside Japan -___-)

well, most of the music I listen is japanese, but only very few of them are really interesting. What I see the most in asian countries including japan is those cheesy, annoying boy/girlbands selling because of their artificial, make-up based looks. And also artists like koda kumi that in my opinion are just single versions of the boy/girlbands. Besides, I hate pop songs. So, what I found out is that japanese artists like kobukuro, yuzu, glay and gackt are nice ^^

I agree, I think that japanese music is way easier to sing along with and has some type of flow....but I also think it is also caused by anime....

Well I wouldn't say Japanese music is the only stuff getting big here, Korean music is pretty big too. I even hear a few Chinese songs now and then from some of my friends.

If your music is popular they're no good anymore.

Cause idiots are going to listen to your fav artist, so better off not being popular.

I think it's because a lot of modern Japanese music was influenced my American music so it's easier to adapt to. Thats my hypothesis of it's popularity in the States, at least.
