go to youtube and type in 2pac changes and tell me what it was about

i remember when that song came out. hm, i'd say it's a good enough song though nothing earth shattering. i think the lyrics are too self pitying and playing the "i'm just a victim" card, though he does bring up plenty of valid issues and a few encouraging words.

if he REALLY wanted to make changes, he'd advocate the value of an education, hard work, and personal responsibility. i think the song is pretty hypocritical in his case. i used to listen to 2pac, and he was one of the worst people for popularizing the "thug lifestyle." Hmm, he may be saying one thing, but he's doing something quite different. Words without weight have no value in my book.

dude, the song isn't that complex. there are some highly intelligent rappers out there, but 2pac isn't one of them. sure i think he is very talented and creative, but he is over glorified just because he died young. he's the jim morrison of rap, if you will.

Oh and just because im willing to stick up for something doesnt make me the reason a type of music sucks...i may just reinforce why you hate the genra even more but id rather stand up for something i like than be like some people on this site that like hip hop and arnt man/ woman enough to come into the board and go against the haters. Now im not trying to make anyone come to like something they dont, cause me and you both know thats not going to happen. I just want you to listen to that song and maybe some others with an open mind, my point is not all rap is bad not to convince you into liking it, cause i really dont give a shit on what you like or not. Its your tastes not mine

2pac was actually a very intellectual person, he fought for equality and peace even. Now i wouldnt say he had the cleanest mouth

he'd advocate the value of an education, hard work, and personal responsibility

thats what he fought for during his life, now im not saying he didnt have songs where he didnt cuss and blaze people specially after he got shot ("hit em up") aside from that back on topic

i think i proved my point to at least one person not all rap is bad

i think there are good rappers out there (i'm fond of immortal technique and mos def personally), but these rappers don't represent mainstream as a whole.

see, thats what so many rappers do. they try to have their cake and eat it to, so to speak. on one hand, he's says a lot of admirable things. then he practices a much different life, as well as releasing songs advocating often enough just the opposite. they make religous references as well as advocate social activism, then they get involved in violence and other illegal activities the next day.

EDIT - i also have a damned hard time calling anyone who dropped out of high school in this day and age an intellectual.
