I have watch both iswak and iswak 2. Currently iswak 2 has not finish broadcasting in taiwan.
I feel that iswak storyline is funnier. Iswak 2 storyline is interesting but not as funny as iswak.

I am now looking forward to episode 20 of iswak 2.

The original storyline of ISWAK is precisely what I had a problem with. Which really sucks because personally I think Ariel, Joe and Jiro all played their roles really really well. Good acting and stuff, but I guess the drama really brings out the feminist in me (and I'm not normally like that), since Xiang Qin shamelessly chases after Zhi Shu, she has no dignity at all, which really upset me. The majority of Asian dramas are a little bit sexist but ISWAK really took it to the max. I guess I can see why people would think its sweet, but I'm not sure why I had to sit through 19 episodes spanning three or four years for Zhi Shu to accept Xiang Qin.

Xiang Qin is very simple minded. She also grew up in a very nurturing environment. True, it does seem like she has no dignity when she chases after Zhi Shu, but that is also something that is very admirable about her character is ISWAK. But I heard a lot of criticism from my friends who refuse to finish the drama because her obsession with him seems to just repeat itself and drag the story on. I envy her honesty and courage when confessing and putting up with Zhi Shu. It's hard for us to do that because pride and sense makes us use our minds more than our hearts. That's why she's so loveable, she wears her heart on her sleeve (does not think before she acts or speak). You know she's sincere.

As for the feminism part, I do want to hear your take on it. There are so many people we claim to be feminist, but do what degree? Do you find it degrading when guys treat you like a princess, or do just find it degrading when guys disrespect you and treat you unfairly, or do you find it insulting that guys treat you differently because you are a girl? Which is the case? Because, to me, feminism just seem to be another label. I wanted to be respected like an individual, but I enjoy be treating like a princess.

I was actually kind of looking forward to TKA because I thought it would be better than the first, since Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin are already married and stuff. I didn't expect a 180-degree change in ZS but at least I thought he would treat XQ a little nicer?
Mainly what I'm getting at is that TKA should have been focused on something else.. a different plot, which it sort of is, but we still get XQ-ZS drama (XQ doing something, ZH getting mad, giving her the cold shoulder, XQ crying, them making up) every other episode, which is what makes the drama drag.

Admittingly, he does love Xiang Qin. But he's not the lovey-dovey husband. She married him knowing this about him. ISWAK dwelled on dating (which they really didn't do, but the chase is still there [on XQ's part at least]). TKA dwells on married life and the future. XQ's tears are basically from insecurity, b/c she has always lacked confidence towards ZS affection towards her. But he's the reliable type that shows his affection for her behind curtains (by doing things for/thinking about her without her knowledge). He doesn't treat her badly, but she always wants to be reassured that he loves her.

you go girl! jaiyou! your are really good in explaining these, i agree with you some people didn't appreciate the real meaning of the story because all they can see is a girl following a boy in this sequel but if you watch and think deeply it may appear different in one's mind. What do you expect in a girl whose always in F class in high school? of course her role is just natural in the real world acting like dumb, fool, idiot etc.and as a genius zhi shu is the only one who can realize her personality because as i said HE IS a GENIUS.xiang qin is the type of girl who is innocent and dumb but that made zhi shu loved her. you see she is really devoted to zhi shu and her love will not vanish for a long time.As for zhi shu he doesnt show his true feelings for her in public because he's a secretive type of man whose feelings are hidden deeply inside him so he treats her coldly but in his heart he knows that no one can never do like xiang qin does to her loving him eternally. well that's hard to imagine devoting yourself to someone you loved.sa totoong buhay lang mahirap ang magmahal ng isang tao lang sa buhay mo dahil magiging mas masakit ito para sa iyo lalo na kung yung mahal mo ay iiwan ka o may mahal kang iba and that makes me admires xiang qin's courage to fight her feelings for him hirap ngata nun ah..
my opinion only

It was really a waste of my time.
The only reason I would finish watching
it is because Jiro's in there. Ariel Lin sucked
at her part!

loved ISWAK but i can't say the same about ISWAK 2.. i mean, it's like a repetition of the 1st season with xiang qin chasing after zhi shu. the only difference is that they're married. i'm not expecting that they totally change or anything but i was hoping for some growth esp. in xiang qin's character. hmm.. i heard before that the writer died before the story was finished? (is this true?correct me if i'm wrong) that's probably the reason why the story for ISWAK 2 didn't turn out that great.

but i still love ariel and joe cheng

i like TKA than other dramas... i like theyre intimate scenes (i heard its theyre hardest scene)... bsyd zhi shu is more caring to xiang qin now,,, yes hes not showy,,, but when he and XQ are alone i can feel the love that he has for XQ (in drama) ...

i lyk the part when XQ's dad got mad to ZS bcoz ZS dont care that much to XQ (if where is XQ now, bcoz XQ is sleeping in her frendz house),,,and when ZS is telling XQ's dad about what he really feel about XQ- "she dont have an idea how i really love her"(i dont know if its ryt but it sounds like that) hehehe ...

i like the sequel... bcoz ZS here s more showy than the first one...

i love this drama than the first one actually... coz jiro has a love team not focus in zs and xq love story they r like a bridge to everyones love story(i mean theyre friends)they dont fight that much unlike the first one (yes in the first 15 episode i guess??? they have few misunderstanding but after that ... they make love ) hehehe...so sweet (it really happen in real life i saw it in my parents joke!!!)

just my opinion!!!
