When the best five killers are hunted by the ultimate assassin:

3 Die.
2 Survive.
1 Lives... Forever.

Set in the high tech, high stakes world of espionage and global conspiracy, The Five Killers reunites the world’s greatest assassins years after their bitter retirement. One of them has been found murdered, and the message is clear: they’re next.

Their names are (starting from the bottom right, then to the center, then clockwise) SWORD, BOMB, GUN, KNIFE, and VAMPIRE.

The story begins on a rainy afternoon in Boston, when four of the estranged killers gather for an unexpected funeral. Knife is dead, and no one knows who murdered him. Since they've all been out of the game for a long while, Knife's death comes as a shocking surprise--but one they all know to be possible given their line of work.

The funeral doesn't go smoothly. Immediately, uncomfortable glances, sudden arguments, and old accusations begin to fly as the remaining four confront one another with the bitterness and jealousies that originally drove them apart--

--until a fifth mourner arrives. Dressed in white and announcing himself as "The Droid," he cheerfully takes credit for Knife's assassination--and declares the other four to be his next targets. On the run, forced together in self-defense, the four race around the world trying to find who--or what--is behind this mysterious "Droid" and why they're marked for death.

With an explosive ending, life death, immortality, and love all converge in an emotional and shocking final conclusion.

About the creator:

Name: Eric Calderon
Age: Kid
Birthday: Come ‘on man!

Current interests: Hip-Hop, lounge music, angry discussions about crappy comic-book movies. Nerdy joy over great sci-fi TV series.

Work:

1993-1999 Director of Development, MTV Animation.

2000-2001 Executive in Charge of Development, Atomfilms.

2001-2007 VP of Creative Affairs, GDH International

2007 - Independent writer / producer

Eric Calderon has been a development executive in the world of animation for nearly 15 years. Starting his career at MTV Animation where he oversaw the development process as well as the approval of nearly a dozen TV series, he then moved to Atomfilms for 1 year developing and producing short animations for the web.

6 years ago, Eric joined Japanese animation Studio Gonzo and their International division GDH with the hopes of creating ‘fusion anime.’ While there, he coordinated creative efforts between Japan and the US as well as acted as an executive for Linkin Park’s award-winning ‘Breakin’ the Habit’ video and a co-producer for the break-out hit ‘Afro Samurai’ starring the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Ron Perlman, and Kelly Hu (with music by the RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan and Kill Bill fame).

He is currently an independent writer / producer working on original projects, as well as consulting for various Japanese and US-based companies.

He occasionally cooks a halfway decent meal, and loves to clean his house more than go out on the town.

(One other thing - this is like really weird because I’m talking about me in the 3rd person and I like totally wrote this bio myself and I’m obviously just bragging about umm..myself. Ugh.)

I saw the promo as well (reluctantly at that). Very interesting, but I wouldn't be surprised if it got licensed off the bat. That's usually the case with good anime... sigh...

Mmmh, I'll give it a try, not too fond of the character deigns though. But Gonzo animation tends to kick ass and I like killer stories...so let's hope it's a good one.
