Okay, here's a riddle then!

Miss Scarlet O'Hara was a wealthy widow. She believed herself to be the incarnation of the famous character in the novel Gone With the Wind, and as a result, she tried to imitate her in everyway. In addition, everything she owned had to be white.

Miss Scarlet instructed an architect to build her a huge white bungalow that had no less than twelve white bedrooms and twelve white bathrooms. Her stables were all to be painted white to match both the white house and the white garage. The principal feature of her home was naturally the grand staircase.

With all things being equal, what colour would Miss Scarlet have instructed her painters to paint the grand staircase?

Btw you don't have to have read the novel before. All the information you need is in the question! Enjoy!

Ok, think about the staircase and the house. Don't focus on the colours.
