Most of my teachers take questions directly from the homework and put it on their tests, so its kind of helpful for me to do it ^ ^. Sometimes it can be just a waste of time, but if you have a good teacher, they'll probably give you questions that'll be similar. Its just to get some extra practice.

Homework is pointless when you copy off your classmate. It's also pointless when you don't see the point in why a homework is given. It could also be pointless when your teacher simply wants to torture you or take retribution on you, but in many ways, doing homework is good preparation to your college life. Believe me, you'll wish teachers would actually TELL you what to study in the form of "home works"... but you're all on your own in college.

Thousands of simple problems that are virtually the same annoy me. If the class already understands the lesson and the homework gives more challenging problems then I am all for it.

As stupid as it sounds, that "piece of paper" is what gives you a competitive edge in the work force. Thing is, that piece of paper is useless if you take your education for granted. Please, don't take your education for granted. You'll only realize how important it will be later on in your life.
