As much as I hate HW I've got to say it's not useless because it helps keep your brain flowing.

well homeworks helps u if u understands wat the teacher said be4 and u can then study it for the exams if u have somes

mmm... nope, its not useless , sometimes i do the homeworks during class when i finish all the practices while te other ones are still not finishing or when the teacher is teaching (lol) something that i've already know and its boring.

Homework is only useless if you already know the material. Ultimately, homework is there to help you figure out the current material on your own ('cause we do get spoon fed too much in the classroom, especially in high school), to increase proficiency on the subject through practice, and to help discipline ourselves into improving our work ethic.




First off, the indepth stuff comes later in high school and then continue in college. Some urban schools will teach Asian languages, Arabic, Russian and Latin, but these are in urban areas, again, that already have many bilingual students and they need to provide more challenging languages. Most US public schools teach French, Italian, Spanish and German because most of modern English is built on these languages. They help you comprehend your own language more. Culture studies are electives in later grades of high school and college. If your school isn't teaching music in anyform...well damn, your district sucks. I know alot of schools are dropping it, but they haven't in NY, and it's really a matter of the budget. Most school boards will choose sport over the arts, if they need to decide what to keep. If you don't have music in your school, blame the people voting against the school budget and the knuckle heads that decided that athletics are more important than creative thinking.

You're also young, so I'm telling you right now: at 14, your education is really only just beginning. Be patient or work harder to get in more advanced classes. If your school really is just that bad, try telling your parents that you want a better education. There are after school programs and private schools you can easily look into.

It really does help. Even if people are quick learners, homework reinforces what you learned. Helps me remember the material for as long as I need it.

I think huge amounts are pointless.

if the teacher taught it right:yes, got your mind seeing the patterns to help you fill in the blanks and know the next step. if they were lousy at it: didn't matter, still impossible. this was before i had the internet.

If it doesn't help, then it is pointless. For all other cases, homework is like a painful necessity for successful learning.


So basically, if it involves stupid questions like "okay calculus students, what is 5 + 2?" then it's pointless and retarded.

But if it involves questions like "using equation 42, calculate the [complicated science term here]," then it may be difficult, but it would still be worth doing anyways.


Also, protip: teachers often use homework problems in their tests, with only a few small changes (if any) to the question.

I did not mind the homework, it was the test that I hated the most. I can do homework all day, heck I do not care if they are essays, I just did not want to take tests.

Its useless. U get stress, then u get sick, then u die. XD

i feel like i get more outta homework then tests... tests u cram then dump after wards... homework you do multiple times so it naturally gets learned,long term.

homework actually is some sort of 'reminder' of the lesson we just had for me.
but too much homework is just pure evil.
