Where do you obtain Manga?
Posted 3/18/08
I get mine by trading with friends, or I go to my ultimo favourite book shop called Waterstones, it smells of coffee and nice cafe food, and is sooo posh with spiral stairs leading up to the Manga! I could spend hours in that place looking at books anyway....and the comic book shop sells them slightly cheaper but they have less variety. Online occasionally aswell.

I just buy it at chapters or specialty anime stores. Specialty stores are generally cheaper, which is good when you're buying Del Rey manga (it's almost $18 in Canada >__<)

I go to Walden's, and if they don't have it, I go to Borders. If they don't have it, then I'm doomed. Well, not that much anymore because Crunchyroll has some pretty good manga:)

There used to be a store called Comic Book Head Quarters where I'm at... but recently, all there outlets have been diminishing. I really appreciated their good archive of old titles, and especially hard to find titles.

Nowadays, you see manga as their own little section in bookstores, here ~ and it's frustrating since they don't have a wide variety of titles. Specialty stores are BUT specialty, since they usually cater to not just Manga, but American Comics, as well.

Many times, I'm tempted to simply order them online, since the stores here really don't cut it.

I either go to Barnes and Noble, Borders, or especially a Japanese bookstore (I forgot the name, but it is in San Francisco).

Either Barnes & Noble or, if they don't have what I'm looking for, I order the manga online.

IRC.... >.> I <3 lurk.

I do buy a few volumes of the series I really like though, and those I get at Borders because my relatives seem to think that Borders gift cards are always a nice birthday/Christmas/graduation/etc. present.
