I feel the sudden urge to point out that Samurai practiced homosexuality as an honorable act, but I'm not really gonna say much about that...

Anyways, samurai were just the Japanese equivalent of the European Knights. They did drag on their lifestyle a bit longer than they should have though.

They were who they were, just like the vikings and knights of yore. They represented a certain set of beliefs that reflected certain values of their era. Some of their values might be outdated nowadays, but they were still powerful in their time, hence the cool factor.

Sticking by your beliefs and having a distinct style = cool.

I personally would go the way of the samurai. I have many books on it, And Regarding the history they were honorable, Peace and tranquil people
