i heard that cr cant have alot of threads because it slows down their servers or something, and thats why they dont like duplicates. But cant cr delete some of the older threads that have been inactive for months. (maybe they do idk)

no the duplicate threads are to keep things cleaner and more organized... and it's just DAMNED annoying to see tons of duplicate threads...

has nothing to do with the bandwidth..

What would the point be? Someone would just make a duplicate and the process would start over again.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-4/Suggestions-Read-the-First-Post.html

post your complaints there as talking about this with people who have no power to change cr is pointless

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-1096/Casual-Chat-with-the-Mods.html

that is also another legitimate place for you to complain

Yes, people still will, but at least the o
The point of locking them is to stop people from crther members won't have to dig through millions of the exact same thread.

plus if the mods deleted some of the older threads, wouldnt that be sad for all the people who posted in the old threads? and had to post AGAIN in the new ones? >.>

Excellent point n_n303!

There's lots of reasons we close, duplicates threads, some of them being...

1. Organization. It just plain looks better, and is easier to find things when there is only one of each subject!
2. Why should the person who had the idea to make the thread first get their thread closed because someone who was too lazy to to search for a duplicate wanted to make one? Doesn't sound very fair does it =/?
3. If there's only one of each thread, it's easier to have a good discussion because everyone is in one place =D!
4. Some duplicates are made SO often (like the ones n_n303 mentioned) that we'd be deleting the "old" threads every couple days or hours, and that's not fair to the people who already posted on that thread. They don't want to have to type out their opinion allll over again!

So it doesn't have to do with bandwidth, it's more about organization and making the forums work best for everyone =D!
