It was a beautiful movie, but long as well... Horrendously long...

I can still remember the silly antics of Kikuchiyo. Akira Kurosawa is just brilliant at capturing your attention and making you fall in love with his characters. :)

EDIT: renamed the thread

Unfortunately Kikuchiyo died in the end......

Very long winded but has been considered a classic.....and eventually was turned into an anime adaptation which made me prefer the film.....

What was the name of the quiet one that usually just sat and meditated all the time? I believe he was the one that went out of the camp in the middle of the night and came back with some rifles from the enemy camp.

Funny! Hahahaha. I watched it during a film class and for some reason, only like, 5 of us enjoyed it.(we were 14 in that class) I think it was because we understood the culture and everybody else was just "huh?" Same thing happened with "Dreams"... (Although I have to admit, dreams confused me a little)

Everything Akira Kurosawa did with Toshiro Mifune in it, I have seen. They did good work together. I loved the 7 Samurai.

Same with my thread about Setsuko Hara. 99% of the people who replied didn't know who she was.
