I wouldn't say anything. It depends on your believe. If God is really that "God", somehow It is the first causal; meaning- it appears before time. However, there is no scientific study about it, let alone scientific evidence. Just believe what you want to believe.

I agree with tweety. Anyways, how practical is it to think about the Earth's age. It is interesting and kind of fun, but there is of little use for it in everyday life. If we always think about the big questions like existence and such, you would be driven mad. I say believe what you want to believe, as there is even a possibility that "GOD" created the universe old, logic and rules already built-in, so 6000 years might be a possibility. Like it even matters when the universe was created; are you going to use it in a conversation?

The universe started about more than 13 billion years ago. Now, some scientist say like 15-17 billion years ago, with the question of expansion and star distances. There is no way of exactly telling how old the universe really is, as scientists argue this among themselves.

In God time, the universe was created in seven days. Seven days in God time is debatable, as He is God and can do whatever He wants.

yes i agree... i should stop thinking of questions that r of no use. but they r just kinda fun and mind boggling >_^

Time does not exist in the way we believe. Theres no such thing as a day, or an hour, month, etc. Time is only previous happenings in our universe leading to the present or future happenings that will take place. That is why time can be considered as a dimension, by thinking about it like this... it can be respresented by a line and two arrows.... just like space. Being thought of like this, then there would be time before the big bang or God's creationg (w/e you believe), because the rule is that it takes one previous step to accomplish another. aka, time has always been around and always will be.
