actually i read all the posts but i don't see the point in acknowledging them because all they do is spurr up argument...I don't think magnus started this thread to blabber on and on about who's right and wrong... he merely commented that he regretted some of his past actions because he met a Christian that was and uprightly walking person which in turn changed some of his opinions on us....ALL WE'RE DOING IS REVERSING EVERYTHING THAT HE REALIZED ....some of you should be ashamed of yourselves...in everything we do a Christian should act in LOVE and nothing else!!!~

1st John 4:7
Beloved let us love one another for love is of God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

Sry for the rant but it just came out ...btw todays my b-day!~~~ yay~~~~

Skygod, I have been reading this thread and regardless of who is right and who is wrong if you had never entered it it would be peaceful (magnus is kind of a necessary component of this thread seeing as he created it so i wont say the same to him) To be honest skygod you give zealots a bad name sometimes (not just in this thread), some atheists including the likes of magnus can be genuinely sorry and regret past actions or attacks against groups or religions. You have branded magnus your personal enemy, and hence you automatically assumed the worst and entered this thread with your fists flying. While there have been times when magnus did similar things to christians I can't blame magnus for defending himself on this occasion. It seems you have an ego which cannot accept being wrong about anything, hence you will never fully accept that you were wrong no matter what evidence is placed in front of you. Just listen to ratman and cool off. (just so you know, I anticipate an irate reply to this that will not accept this criticism so feel free to prove me right. Having said this I like suprises so if you feel I have misjudged you please try to prove me wrong as well )

What you expect will not be what you get. I'm not irrate and Magnus is not my personal enemy. I simply stated my opinion on the matter. I have as much right to do so as anyone here does. I don't have to agree with him, you, or anyone. I genuinely doubt he is sorry, like he genuinely does not believe in God. It's nothing personal, it's just my view. Zealot? Please don't include me in that group. I'm more of a renegade. I have major ego issues. Not like I'm going to try to lie.

Certainly, you have the right to state your opinion, skygod! And I don't think either you or magnus are personally attacking each other. It seems to me to be somewhat that you and he are both expressing your own personal views, and there's nothing wrong with that! If this thread were considered serious flaming (which I don't think it is), then I'm sure Fae or soon_doo_bu would have locked it.

Let's just drop the 'different sides' thing will we? I'm so disappointed. Up to the point before I leave this group there is more interest in trying to quench fires around you rather than walking to Jesus's peace . I have found lots of answers to my doubts by approaching him myself, and it's really more effective than going round in circles, debating. Like lumiina says, the threads of late are either controversial or debatable. What happened to seeking Him?

Definitely, you are right, Fae. The point of this group is to seek a community of brothers and sisters in the same faith, and so I was wondering why this thread has not been locked, yet, as it is so unrelated to the theme of this group.

You know one thing that is true about some religious people? It is that they really want to save the souls of atheist/agnostics. Not all of them by any means but a few truly sweet caring people. I have been talking to an Christian guy that goes to my school and he has impressed my with the way he cares about others. He really believes that people that do not have a belief in god will receive an unspeakable punishment. After talking with him I realized that in response to theist arguments will respond with valid but biting sarcastic critiques. I feel bad that I have been very mean in a sense to people who only want to save me from eternal damnation. While I remain as unconvinced as before this is one thing that makes me feel regretful. Thus I apologize to those rare kind people that this post is talking about.

does this mean that u have been converted?
Nope.

oh,but when you see jesus, when you die, dont say we havent tried...

If he does see jesus he will regret it im sure. However it is a very big IF in both mine and Magnus' opinion so im sure he is willing to take that risk.

Why take the risk. ...By accepting Jesus you gamble that there is a after life. If (BIG IF) there is no after life you have not lost any thing. You made a few friends (some closer to you than famly) and enjoyed life. But if you dont accept him and there is a after life....Well burring in a dark sulfer flame for well, forever is not my thing. The Bible has more notations for hell than heven. It also states that it was made for the Devl and his demons, not for Man kind. but, with out Jesus that where we end up.....

1. Actually I agree no one can force you to believe anything including yourself...but let me ask you one thing...how can your mind reject God when something deep inside acknowledges the grandeur of everything we see? that nothing in this universe could possibly come together by chance? Did atoms and molecules and other elementary particles just form by themselves? Did they form nucleic acids, polypeptides, nitrogenous basis that came together by chance to make living things? How can forces like gravity even come into being without something to control it? Do you not feel awed when you look at your natural surroundings? Did trees and other vegetation randomly decide on their own that they wanted to use CO_2 and sunlight to grow and produce offspring instead of O_2 or methane gas? I don't care how scientific anyone gets...there is no way that I could accept a whole universe with billions of different ecosystems and interactions being created by chance...no way....

2. Let me tell you one thing my friend there is no such thing as equal chances when it comes to choosing your God. You did not choose him but he chose you. Out of all the Gods ever Jesus is the only one who sacrificed himself for his own people and the only one who promises to return for his people.

3. I agree with you when it comes to arguments that are meant only to create fear. God isn't a God of horrible vengeance and strife like so many people make him out to be but he is a God that will not go back on his word and many misinterpret that as being cruel and distant. What he has said in the Bible is truth...and because God is truth he will judge all of us someday...none of us are worthy of his precious love but all of us receive it.

4. You know what? I've thought about this point many times over my "short" life...and somehow I've always come up with the same conclusion. If there really was no life after my death would it be worth all the time I've spent praying, going to church, reading the Bible, and blabbering on Born Again? Even though in my heart i could never deny God i have to say that my answer would be yes...because you know what? It never steered me wrong. The word of God is abounding with sooo much truth. If you just follow the teachings in each of the books your bound to have an awesome life...no joke! So many worldly people today are discovering the secrets of the Bible actually work...for instance it's been proved that for some reason tithing (giving 10% of ur wealth away for the greater good) actually helps the giver bring in a greater profit...and having a supportive group such as praying church helps patients have a greater survival rate and so on...well i could go on forever but this is getting long and boring i bet so if you want me to go on I will some other time ^^

Wow your answer in this thread was right on AburaiRukia.. ..BTW I was not trying to scare him but, tell him the true fate of the unsaved. Also that I fear for him and care for his fate. Is it strange that I would care about the fate of another man. NO I have had seen to many in my life go to Hell with death. Some of which were very dear to me.
