Wow you guys are lucky that you even have a manga section in your local bookstores, where I live we dont have any manga or anime in stores. You just have to rely on online purchases.

Well, I use my female charm to make them move: always works!

Me (with the "sluttiest" voice I can use): Excuse me, but I want to get a manga from that section.

Douchebag (starring at my chest, or if I'm standing up, or my ass): Hmmm, what did you said?

Me (a bit more louder, but still "slutty"): Please, I wanna get my latest "Shugo Chara" volume, move, please!

Douchebag: *moves with a smile on his face*

i used to live in an asian country and i actually did encounter those 'otaku wannabes' who blocked the manga aisle along with their 'gangs'.... they would literally sacrifice their weekend to just sit down on the floor and read the whole series of manga right at the bookstore (they probably have got no money to afford the mangas and definitely has no life, these cheap asses has got to either move or go home!)

but i think this kind of problem only happens in an asian bookstore... coz where i live now, people just buy the book once they have a flick through 4-5 pages (well thats what i do anyway)

LOL I just got a job at borders. I was at an interview the other day and there are a bunch of people not buying stuff at the cafe or buying books. They are sitting there reading and stealing wireless. -facepalm- including people reading manga...what is this a library?! lol

there are always about five or six kids sitting right in the aisle reading

...I'm one of those people. I usually only sit there when there's nobody browsing in the aisle (which is most of the time I go to the bookstore). I like having the whole section to browse through near me. I also hate the hard benches and chairs our store has, and the store cafe is too crowded and noisy. I like my solitude.

I believe the correct term for them are "manga cows". Electric cattle prods are usually effective.

Seriously, though I just flick their book a couple times with a finger to get their attention and point and they usually take the hint.

sometimes when i go to the bookstore, the manga section gets so jammed pack with kids sitting on the floor that a security guard actually has to tell them all to stand up.

It doesn't happen to often where I live. If you just politely ask them to move, they do. Except this one time (not to long ago actually) where this elementary kid wouldn't move so I asked him again and he just stared at me like. Luckily his mother was nearby and she saw that he wouldn't move, scolded him, and made him apologize! It was pretty funny to tell the truth
If his mom wasn't there, I probably would have just dragged him away from what I was trying to get to. I don't like little kids...
