It's so hard to say what I think about my country. I have nearly 50 years of experiences based here. The best advice I could give someone would be to visit Australia and see for yourself. Melbourne (where I live) is the 2nd largest city, having about 3 million people, I think. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If you have heard the stereotypes about kangaroos hopping down the Bourke Street Mall, koalas everywhere, cattle farms etc, they are wrong This city is like so many others in the world and yet so unique. The weather is notorious for having 4 seasons weather in the one day. Overall the people are friendly and will talk to you nicely (there are exceptions). It is a multicultural society, as is a lot of Australia. There is a song which many believe shoudl be our national anthem which contains the line "we are one, but we are many, and from all the lands on earth we come". I think this about sums it up. Your country (Singapore) is beautiful btw. I visited Singapore some time ago and would love to go back there one day.

In melbourne, that is =)

The weather here is generally quite dry here in aust... (we're going thru a drought right now in Brissy, lvl 5 water restrictions -_-) although depending on where u live, it can be hot all year round and in some areas get some snow in the winter such as Canberra =)

I agree, although near where i live, i occasionally see kangaroos; but theres none of that stuff such as kids riding on the back of a kangaroo to school, no.

Yeap, Melbourne weather is crazy.haha
How people are, generally I'd say the majority are really nice people, but it really depends on what suburb you are in. The one I'm living in right now is full of old people, so nothing hardcore happens. Whereas the neighboring suburbs are full of dropkicks with no lives that hang around the train station.

The environment is pretty good around here. But it can't compare to Singapore I think.

wadda ya mean ? Kangaroos are my primary source of transport !
Anyway, you'd only see kangaroos in the zoo around here...
But you'll see plenty of Possums around here... pesky little fockers
Eatin our home grown vegies ....>_>

what about the pace of life dere is it fast?? wad about education?? which part of australisa is the most ideal place for u??
Posted 9/12/07
Pace of life? I think its quite fast... 15 years of my life has past already in a blink of an eye..

Education... i think the education is quite good here, for one, theres a lotta students coming into aus to study at uni. My cousin (hes from s'pore) actually came down here to Brisbane to study at UQ (Uni of Queensland) :)

Sorta hard for me to answer ur questions, since i can't really compare it to other countries (i've lived in the same house all my life )

Most ideal place for me? Dunno... i went down to Sydney fo 7 camp and it was pretty kewl too... Although i think i prefer Brisbane since i prefer hot weather to cold (it doesnt get TOO hot here in summer and it doesnt get too COLD either in winter)

I live in Greater Sydney [b/c some people think that Sydney encompasses basically half of NSW XD] We actually have more Maltese that live in my area than the whole of Malta. AUSTRALIA WINZ

I don't ride a kangaroo to school. My books wouldn't fit. And I don't have enough money to own my own 'roo. I catch a communal wombat. We ride on its back. Like all the other povo kids. XD

Australia is very multicultural. People think that just b/c they know jack-all about us, that we could never know anything about their country. We learn american history, ancient history, commerce, anything.

Our schooling system is one of the best in the WORLD. Or Universities offer the greatest higher education in the southern hemisphere [I don't know if it is the world, but we're close] If you get an education over here, when you go to America, you have to fix up your resume, because you become overqualified for most of the jobs. XDDD AUSSIE SPRUIKE
