I was reading over the newspaper today and on the front pages there were two stories. The first noted that cocaine smuggling within twenty-six towns was curbed. The other discussed one of America’s favorite topics. Illegal Immigration.

As it said, an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants stopped working for a day in an attempt to show the American people and government that we -need- them in order to run. Personally I think this is a fabrication of the truth, if not a falsehood. I do believe it is true that if we were to remove them all without warning that the economy would took a temporary, even brief, downfall. However, I think as time went on all those Americans who couldn’t find jobs enough to support themselves and their families would come and fill up the spots.

Anyway they refused to work; moreover, there was another (though apparently smaller scale) boycott of the American independence day. There is more. In an attempt to further show the level of importance the illegal immigrants have (I believe this is in the state of Arizona) the head of the Illegal Immigrant’s organization is encouraging a second, week long, boycott of work. He is further going on to exaggerate their importance by encouraging all immigrants, not just the illegal ones, to join in the protest. He claims that the state of Arizona will utterly collapse without its “Mexican/Hispanic work force.”

So, what do you think? Personally I am against illegal immigration. People claim that it helps our economy but statistics clearly show that it does the exact opposite. However, it is true that the longer it remains the more reliant we become on it. Eventually we’re going to find ourselves in a situation in which we citizens are going to have an almost impossibly hard time getting a job. When we’re raising our families on the American economy the illegal immigrants are raising theirs back in Mexico (dominantly, though not all illegal immigrants are Mexican.)

None the less, I support the illegal immigrants boycott. I think it will backfire on them, and then I’ll sit here with a happy smile. I also think it’s amusing that I didn’t even notice the boycott until it was published in the newspaper. Shows how effective it was. I plan to work extra hours on the week of the boycott and encourage others to do the same.

I am against illegal immigration also, i don't care whoever come here, just do it legally. This problem is caused by the Mexican government and they should be the one fixing it not us. The US must put more pressure on Mexico to create jobs to its citizen, so they'll stop coming here.
Yes, illegal immigrants does help the economy, but in long terms is will harm the economy.

I remember them taking a day off, they said they wouldn't
work or buy anything and it would have huge economic
ramifications..

the fact of the matter is last time they all took a day off,

there was no traffic.

they should do it more often.

You always say "statistics clearly show", in every topic, but you've yet to show a single statistic, clear or otherwise.

Tell me how did the walk out affect things? Why not finish the story rather than say: "They think they are impotent! Wrong lol."

Rofl, come the fuck on. You're going to illegally immigrate to a country and try to look like some "professional" organization? If you illegally immigrate you automatically kill your "professionalism", why? Because you're ILLEGAL! Professionals don't break laws.

first people gotta realize every american originally immigrated here, yes there should be laws and limits to regulate illegal immigration, but this hate, this mentality of "they'll take away our jobs" "theyll take away our land" "they!" "they!"

its an ugly side of the pride of being american, wat u wanna do? send millions of people away? Do u really think illegal immigrants are sitting around in luxury ? no theyre working like hell, minimum wage, constantly ridiculed

if all immigrants stopped working then thered be no america, and dunt give me that ur just saying its illegal immigrants, if u see a mexican dude and an indian dude in a corner, i bet in ur mind theyre automatically illegal immigrants

we just need to stop discriminating and coexist
