I thought another note was good, I love that it was told from mellos point of view. And I would love to get 13 but I can't find it in English.

I read it.

I adored the ending--*hugs*

The rest of it confused me, but Mello's random commentary made it worth it. Still I do hate Mello.

Of course it's 17 dollar price tag was way to much for a 117 page book.

Sounds too short for me.

Was a really good story, I've heard the author is actually really famous in Japan. The writing and plot was brilliant and suited the death note story. It's not really from Mello's point of view at all, that's just used as a writing device so it's in past tense 3rd person. It's a 177 page book, but that is all it really needs to be for the story. The 24 dollar price tag is actually pretty cheap here in Australia and if you like death note, or mature crime/detective novels, however, if you haven't seen death note you wouldn't understand the major plot twist at all. The novel is great and worth purchasing.

I like it when people mention it's short, the people who buy manga with about 5 lines of writing on a page and you can read in roughly 10 minutes flat. If they made this into a manga it would probably go for like 5 graphic novels.

i read it and i loved it...
the picture was pretty too
good if youre an l fan, although they kinda mess up thus one rule in canon but overall good.
the authors name i think is nioision, or something like that, hes supposed to be really good. dnan is the first one i read by him, so i cant really judge though. translated by andrew cunningham, he did boogiepop too.

It's not death note how to read, this is a thread about the death note novel, The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases.

I adored this book. Really blew me away; it was really a great mystery novel to be sure. I think it was much better than getting the "13th" book, which i think is basically made to draw in more sales.

The only thing I didn't like was the victims names, I'm assuming they're translated from Japanese and didn't quite fit, but changing them would cause issues with the plot but they still break the story away from reality a bit too much.

Beyond Birthday is not a believable name at all.

But don't you remember that he named himself that for the reason that he had the shinigami eyes and such? So he could see when everyone would die but himself so he called himself Beyond Birthday. And names like Light, Near, and Mello aren't exactly the best names either xD

I kinda liked the victims' names despite their weirdness. I guess its up to preferences?

It's not that I don't like them, it just kinds of destroys the verisimilitude.
