He actually lives in Kent. The book is about, oh my, how do i begin. It's about a boy,Pip, who wishes to become richer in order to win the heart of a girl he loves. When he surprisingly had 'Great Expectations' of money from someone, he moved to London and realizes that his Great Expectations have been too shallow. He then regrets for the things he has done to his brother in-law who cared for Pip

i'm going to pick my options soon for IB, and I am completely puzzled by all the subjects and 'higher leve' and 'standard level'. As my school is new to this, the teachers can't tell us what the subjects will be like and we don't really know what the difference is between higher level and standard level....

so if you take IB... please help!! which subjects do you take? how are they?

HL stuffs usually last for about 2 years (w/ the exception of math [at least for us anyway], which can be either SL or HL but lasting for 2 years)

SL subjects usually last for 1 year, but they don't have as much hard info...

you'll still have to take the exam for each IB subject regardless of whether it's SL or HL... but SL isn't as rigorous, obviously

for example, I'm taking IB HL biology right now... it's a pain in the butt -_-;; not only do we have to do all the stuff that's normally done in SL, but we also have to study 2 more subjects that SL doesn't go over... I think in our case it's... ecology...? and something next year too... but I forgot ¬_¬

For my math, I'm taking SL (which is basically "math analysis" [it really isn't though... it's much simpler, because we're "slow"]) but the actual subject area is from "math analysis" to AP calculus. The HL students are taking AP Calculus right now, and they might get a little stats next year.

an example of a one year SL course is IB geography... our school only offers one year of geography, so it's only SL. although, it's required for us and it's an elective course.

SL courses generally aren't weighted, while the HL courses are.

basically...
if you're not into doing hard work, just drop it...
it's far too late for me now =_=;; I should've dropped when I had the chance >_<...
you're stuck with the same egotistic stuck up jerks day in and day out... and you have a bunch of homework every night... and from what I hear, most colleges don't even accept IB credit ¬_¬

lol, I live in the states... more colleges would rather accept AP credit than IB credits here... but then again, I heard that in Europe and other places, all the "really smart schools" are mostly, or only IB... so of course schools there might accept IB credits...
here, AP is mostly accepted... but for example, History... we can take both the IB and AP exams, so even if they don't take our IB credit into account, we'll still have our AP score from the test (which I know I can't get a 5 on -_-;;; I got a stupid 3 on my AP government exam ¬_¬;;)

to be honest, I don't really like that saying... not only is it NOT true, but it makes me feel like IB students in general look down on others...
which is not true... for most of us... at least for me anyway ¬_¬;; (most of the time... to be honest, I really only did IB because I'm stuck in a school full of mostly..."fakers"... and rednecks... and I couldn't stand their ignorance when I first moved here)
but then I realized that most of the IB people had their heads up their butts and thought they knew everything... but the truth is, we really don't know anything... we're just good at "working in groups" (or for our case, cheating, procrastination, etc. [which, btw, I don't recommend])

there are some really good people though, who honestly strive to help people (not for CAS hours even!) but they're the ones who don't view themselves as any different from other people...
I honestly regret doing IB because the people in my class... most of them are the "I'm better" type... but I stayed because there were at least some people who thought past that ¬_¬;;
