Which is better The King of fighters or street fighter and what character and why?

It's faster and was one of the first fighting games to offer supercancels and such. I love the KoF characters and storyline much much more. And KoF has so far been really the only fighting game to successfully harness the 3D fighting engine and keep the gameplay speed up and handling easy. And my favorite characters are Ash, Whip, Alba, and Nagase :3 Rock's spiffy too

The fighters fight with a lot more intensity or lemme put it this way KOF is a lot more brutal. Take bosses for instance, geese Howard or Rugal....those guys seriously gave me the chills. I had to fight'em at least 20 times to be even able to come clsoe to beating'em. Street fighter still gives off a kiddie vibe (this is my opinion and there really isn't anything wrong with that vibe). As for my fave character, it'd have to be either Chris or Athena. Chris has some stupid moves that help (eating a rice bowl in the game helps a lot) and Athena is very easy to use and of course being a goddess she pwns.

But I'm going to be biased and say Street Fighter, only because I grew up playing it a lot more than KoF. Ryu is my favorite character from SF (yes, how typical ) and Iori would probably be my favorite from KoF.

I haven't played Street fighter, so I cannot give a fair comparison, but the King of Fighters series have been a superb line of fighting games. XI, is the best and the most polished kof out to date, imo. Fast paced action, massive combos, and characters that requires heavy skills to use (WIth the exception of a few), and I prefer the characters more. Best of all, it didn't convert to 3D, and is now using HD 2D sprites. The 2D fighting lives on! Also, my favorite characters in KOF are Kensou, Ash, Athena, Momoko, and Eiji. Yes, I use the whole psyco soldiers team.

Then SF3 was released and owned SNK...and then later became crap because of all the unbelievably ridiculous parrying. I mean, omg, i can practically parry most supers so its not fun/ Anothing thing thats not fun is when you use a one-hit leading super like makoto's or yun's and your buddy parries it! That's why when I play SF3, I mostly use Hugo or Alex. Let's see anyone parrying grabs.
