After watching over a 100 dramas, i have finally devised a list for myself, if the drama doesn't reach the list qualities, i drop it after the first epi, the most it watch is about 5.
1) Hot guy! (most dramas that have hot looking guys score big on my chart,.. -_- yes thats kinda shallow, but hey, its not like i'm looking for a bf like that, i'm just enjoying a drama!)
2) No overly pitiful girls (usually i lose interest if the girl cannot do anything for herself, and just kinda cries a whole lot)
3) Obsessive, possessive guys (if the main guy is obsessive and possessive, it makes me LOVE the drama, i have no idea why? But i find it the most adorable thing ever ^-^)
4) Creative plot (i usually love a drama that keeps having twists and turns, i like it when both the main protagonists end up liking each other after hating each other, or battling it out)
These are some of thing things i look to in a drama, i'm just curious about what others look for in a drama?

- good acting
- good characters
- love triangles
- nice plot & more!

My list of what I look for:
- actors that I know (I usually watch dramas by actors that I really like)
- great acting
-interesting, creative plots that aren't too cliche
- good chemistry between characters
- characters that exceed steorotypes
- witty humour
-heartwarming scenes
- plot twists

- HOT GUYS (famous ones, of course)
-an ADORABLE GIRL
- INTERESTING STORY
-ROMANTIC SCENES (lots of them)
-CheMISTRY , of course
- the episodes should NOT be TOO LONG.. the story gets out of the plot if they prolong it.

hehehe i agree!! forsure number one for me is chemistry between the actors i will lose interest if they dont!, they must have witty conversations where they insult each other...i love that!! i can't stand if the male lead is too nice and girly...makes it feel like blah he's not hero material...

i usually look for:

-Good storyline
-Hot Cast
-Great acting skills
-Comedy and Romance
etc.

convincing actors, good plot, good cinematography, beautiful scenarios

lol, well, me and my friends were talking, and she said she looks for the main guy having sexy hand ... o_o i think thats a pretty good one for some odd reason, hot hands are sooo sexy to watch (CRAZY HAND FETISH!!!)

1) i agree. sometimes i look at the cast of characters before i watch the drama. and if i see matsumoto jun, yamapi, or ikuta on the list, no questions asked, i'll watch the drama (from beginning to end)... i watched akihabara@deep because toma's in it.
2) i agree. dramas with strong willed girls appeal to me. girls who cry too much are annoying.
3) totally agree!! i guess i'd like my man to be exactly like him... i like it when the lead actor's like addicted to his girl.
4) just a good, coherent story -- this is enough for me... as long as the story's well written, all the episodes connect to each other, i'll watch it.

plus:
funny scenes -- i usually look at how the drama is tagged. if the word "comedy" is included, i'd watch it. i'm not really into sad and tragic dramas. unless someone recommends a very good one.

ummm heres what i think:

-Snow,rain ETC (weather)
-Diseases
-A rude girl aka a witch
-riding on 2 seated bikes (full house,ISWAK)
-a funny person
-a love triangle.
