All that guys at crunchyroll ever wanted was to be a "cool" place to hang out for idiotic anime "fans" who are too lazy or stupid to figure out how to run a torrent to download a CCCP pack, and too lazy or broke to get a job and actually buy DVD's. Don't try to make it like they are doing the community some sort of favor by providing some trail blazing service. It's a place for lazy little punks to get their quick anime fix without having to actually think or work for it, and is competely disrespectful to every other segment of the anime community.

Just checking out their forums or comments on the videos for 5 minutes will tell you what kind of people frequent that site. I don't know what GONZO is thinking by putting up their content there, I guarentee you that almost none of the people that frequent that site will EVER pay ANYTHING for anime if they can possibly avoid it

Awww......that hurts

It can't be helped, really. I agree that many of the questions were loaded, but understanding where they're coming from, it makes sense whey they're a little aggressive.

So to all the CR fans, here... please don't go over to ANN and start a ruckus... please. Thanks.

Yeah a lot of loaded questions the truth is ANN is a company that thrives on being able to bring the scoops about all the new licensed in america anime CR allows users to see whats new well in advance to those licenses which in a way diminishes the actual need for ANN and most likely they havent realized that bleach is only licensed by seasons as well as naruto same for fmp jesus fmp has three different licenses from adv tokyopop and funimation so comeon they are just pissed because they are getting the hits they used to

You know, I really want to have a public research on how sites like veoh and CR are actually affecting the digital medium industry, or for that matter, video industry of what ever genre. There are those who can't afford to buy every single anime out there right? So if these people never got to see some of the animes on CR per say, would that really kill of possible customers, and have them suffer, or is it a matter of those who would usually pay for the entire box set of an entire series lost because of sites like veoh? Or do sites like veoh and CR actually attract more possible customers and raise their profits because it is getting more exposure?

Some of us would never even possibly even come into contact with some of the animes we've watched here on CR and veoh... But what does it really do to the anime industry?? I really want to know...

honestly i only picked up air gear dvds after watching it on here and same for a huge chunk of anime i have now all thanks to crunchy roll (^.^)b if it wasnt for this site i wouldnt have been able to watch all the shows i watched as a kid or the anime that we all need to survive

Yeap. Didnt know it costed that much. ANN people were totally bitchin' bout the CR.

Sigh. Some people arent rich enough to buy originals. Anyway, isnt watching from any other site the same as watching on CR? They're just jealous of CR. Insluting as it may be, let's be the bigger person and not pick a fight with them.

Hey be cool everyone,it's ANN's style to twist and turn the questions. It's the same when they interview fansubber Tofusensei, although the questions seem to be less aggresive

To them, this may seem to be real journalism

I agree I mean seriously most animes I own I've seen at least a bit on either here or veoh like Welcome to the Nhk before I go buy the dvds and also ANN with interview I mean finding their site is like hard as hell (I remember when I found it I was searching for some macross anime pic) besides that reading a plot of an anime and determining if its good by just that vs watching some of it to get an idea if you want to buy it which do you think is better obviously the second.

ANN was pretty harsh there - seemed a bit "unprofessional". If you get what I'm saying. =/ Anyways, still, I see where they're coming from, even if I don't agree with them.

I see where ANN is coming from in this whole issue. It brought a whole lot of ethical and legal issues to some kind of light. Sure, it may have seemed a bit aggressive but it's good to get hard answers in an interview.

it is harsh but look at some of the licensing threads about 90% say they would NOT pay for it and just get it from other means if they are not on CR

im just...speechless...i decided to read some comments on the ANN forums....it just seems like we are the scum of the anime community. I support CR fully unless there was some personal gain brought on, but i rly doubt that.

I honestly wonder if we stopped watching these subbed animes, if fansubbers stopped subbing animes, and if there werent sites like crunchyroll around, would anime companies truly suffer from this lack of promotion?
