Do you think Japanese dramas are too childish?
Posted 3/25/08
..i watched many japanese dramas and although i like them (at least they're not boring and they are so funny), i cant help but be turned off by the "too-childishness" of japanese characters, they're like 'animes'....well, i'm askin your opinion..just curious...

Give a few examples of "too childish" means?

I think Japanese Dramas in general hold a much more hopeful outlook on life. Generally focuses on the brighter and more optimistic side of life which is sometimes unrealistic but that's actually something I like about Japanese Dramas.

childish??? maybe you've not watch great jap drama or movies... most of jap dramas ive seen deplicts the sweet and spicy part of ones life..to lose or to win... they are heart warming sometimes funny, short storyline... but life altering...
have you watch dramas of kimura takuya? why not try to see it.. maybe.... you'll change your impression about japdramas..

i think most are not childish e.g. summer snow, under the same roof, hoshi no kinka etc... most of the 'childish' dramas are adaptation from mangas anyway ...

depends on people's mind if they think it is childish then don't watch...if not just watch it and have fun....No one force them to watch JP drama anyway...if they want to cry tht much for a drama go watch K drama....there is plenty of dying scenes...i am pretty sure of it

I dnt think JP dramas are childish.. they're often centred around the reflection of life and what it means to oneself. For me most are pretty meaningful.. say Proposal Daisakusen or Lemon no Koro.

I don't think jdramas are childish.
there are some which are just brighter and happier than others, like hana kimi, which i find cute.
but for example, 1 litre of tears is anything but childish
