Japanese dramas focus on moral, friendship and family
Taiwanese dramas focus on romance.
So I think japanese dramas are more mature than taiwanese dramas.

ryt i kno what you're thinking.....yeah i think it's childish ...

for example hana kimi japan.. look at their reactions when something is..

who would do such thing like nakatsu dancing on top of the table and singing
"HOMO JA NAI" isn't it too childish?? with his movements and feelings and many more

I think it's just so popular in Japan those kinds of acting( childish way= really funny and cute as well) and it really suits the actors/actresses when they do it ..

correct me if im wrong it's just my observation im not a japanese :D..

J-dorama for me are not childish at alL! for starters jdrama's story pertains mainly to life, friendship, hope, reality and love. If ever there is an "anime" moment its just for the light part of the story but reading between the lines, you can actually get essential views in life. And it will left you feeling inspired to live your life, make friends, to love and to be optimistic.

Now, do you think its childish?

Try these dramas:

Nobuta wo Produce
Life
One Litre of Tears
Gokusen (there are "childish" moments here but look at the general meaning)
Seito Shokun
Hana Kimi (duh! don't be fooled with there funny stunts! try to catch the message of the drama)
