Gokusen. That's the first one I've seen.
Hana Yori Dango. It was the next one I've seen.
Hana Kimi Japan. It was the most recent one I've seen.

I've seen a lot of jdoramas, but each of these three never had something more superior than them for me, even amongst themselves.

I love a good cry. I would intentionally go see a tear jerker because when I can really connect with the story's tragedy, and feel sympathy for the hero/heroine's struggle, I become emotionally involved and truly feel sad. In real life, I am constantly reminded by people that I shouldn't invest so heavily in emotions, and that normally, we bottle up our emotions to protect ourselves from getting hurt from rejections.

This is why I loved Que sera sera. I loved the main girl's honesty and her outright refusal to be coy to beat around the bush by hiding her sentiments. When she fell, she fell hard without hiding anything, and never held back. She also wasn't prudish. I liked that she confessed her liking for kissing. And I liked that she actually didn't abstain from spending a night with her lover - because all of that really shows that she took the step forward to be true to her emotions and instead of shielding herself from getting hurt, she openly embraced all of love - its joy and its pain alike.

I cried the most when I saw the ending for Sang doo, let’s go to school. Sang doo sees the girl run into a car and he throws himself into harm’s way to try to save her. The last scene when you see them together is almost fairy-tale like. We don’t know if they made it alive. It seems like an effort from author’s part to console audience. I read a couple of articles written about the drama’s ending. Apparently author intended the real ending to be tragic – so in the main guy and girl’s death. Taken that way, the very last scene could be interpreted as the two at last joined side by side but in the eternal world.
