The Black Plague was spread by fleas. I don't have my AP Euro notes with me, but it was either 1/3 or 2/3 of all of Europe's population that died because of it, so I find that one highly believable, because the Black Plague wasn't the only disease spread by those guys.

a 2 year old persian cat with hip deformity. Her owner moved from California to Oaklahoma. 14 months later, the cat came back.

2. MINOUSH- 1,500 miles
Turkish worker went home with his cat and family for a vacation. At the turkish border, the cat dissapeared. 61 days later, back on the island of Sylt, Northern germany, the family heard a fainth scratch. it was MINOUSH.

3. SILKy- 1472 miles
Shaun Philips and family lost SILKY at Brisbane Australia. That was in summer of 1977. On march 28, 1978, SILKY turned up at Mr. Philips house in Melbourn Australia.

He poisoned his dog, not his children, he had no children. Also, he shot himself and his wife to death, their bodies were burned afterwards. The family tree from wikipedia also shows he had no children:
