Look at it like this. Censorship is need at some aspects of publishing a good anime series, if not kids and young teens would think it is acceptable to do the things that are depicted in the show.

If the manga's we know were adapted into animes uncensored

this would happen

then this

and then this

wait...

the point is anime was furnished for the younger generation, and so naturally even the people who make these types of show have to set boundaries, either to protect themselves from legal trouble for showing xy and z on television for the world to see or to protect those who are still growing up and learning how life is.

as long as the censorship doesn't take away from my enjoyment of the series I don't mind.

i would actually much prefer the stye they did with Ninomiya because it's unnoticeable. It's a little more costly for the studio because they have to do a few extra scenes but it doesn't get in the way of the show.

On the other hand Stickers, Leaping Cats, Penguins and blinding streaks of Light suddenly being inserted into scenes is really annoying and dose interrupt my enjoyment of the show,

So if you are going to censor something, as a viewer I prefer the different scene instead of just covering things up.

Crazy idea: stop marketing things towards a younger audience if it needs much/any censorship. There's plenty of shows already made and appropriate for the different age groups.
If that fails: parents take responsibility for what their sheltered children/teen/etc. watch. Take two seconds to look at the rating, read the synopsis, and maybe 1 whole minute to Google it. Problem solved.

Editing just costs the company more money while taking away from the viewer's enjoyment.
Don't get me wrong, I generally don't mind the occasional edit here or there if it doesn't take away from the character's personalities/quirks/etc. or the story at all... (so long as it isn't something like "stickers, leaping cats, penguins, etc") but when something like this is supposed to be pervy... it's just stupid, imo. It does take away from the show.

actually, when well done... something like that can be really hilarious.

spoiler tags for anyone who wants to fall out of their chair laughing the first time they see it too.

and sometimes it's unintentionally hilarious too.
like one of the early dragonball eps, young goku is naked for some reason, but he is covered by a very crappy MS-Paint junk flower -obviously- pasted in later.

mind you, yes, i do agree about "sudden persistent lens-flare" which seems to almost white out the whole scene, especially whe it's only a skimpy bikini or something.
even worse is the "surprising" amount of steam you can find in the baths
... or maybe they just import a heavy london pea-soup fog

i've seen a number of shows where there is just enough steam to be frustrating... but lately, more and more shows just seem to be applying it with a large bank of fog machines, quite -literally- whiting out most of the scene everywhere, not just the "important" bits. i was recently watching one show, and found myself squinting to try and peer thru the fog to see which character was on screen. wtf? i mean i can understand toning it down for TV, but don't make it unwatchable..

Damn!! Alright.... it's decided. Whenever I want to watch an ecchi series, I'll buy it on DVD instead of watching it online >.<

The censored version is the broadcast edit - that is how it's first shown in Japan.

Actually im trying to remember any of it being censored that much when i did live in japan... maybe during child tv times, but ecchi didnt come on then. I have recently been watching anime that i was watching over there and i cant even enjoy them anymore. Even my wife was asking why they destroyed the series with "Blinding lights of doom that burn your eyeballs" as she said it, or "when did you put stickers on your screen".... the point is some of us pay for membership as well as you CLICK on the acceptance if it has strong content. Stop censoring this stuff, i cant even watch some of my favorite anime anymore, parents watch your kids, adults stop telling me what i should or should not see, lets all enjoy this as the people that made them intended....UNCENSORED.
