As has been mentioned in this thread and many others, CrunchyRoll does NOT censor things here. They show the video they get, just adding subtitles. If they get the TV version, that's what they have to show us and the censorship was already there for Japanese television broadcasts. If they happen to get the DVD or Satellite channel version then they show it to us. Surprisingly, even the late night stuff on broadcast is generally censored, you need Satellite in Japan to see it all. CrunchyRoll tends to make it an age check either way as the themes are adult regardless of the light beams.

I do agree that it is kind of pointless to watch So I can't play H / Dakara Boku Wa, H ga Dekinai in the censored version because the censorship is not very accurate, you can't see anything much of the time. The funny thing is, however, that the manga wasn't that explicit though a few illustrations in the light novels showed some nakedness.

Did you read my post? They don't censor anything but they do stream some shows which were already censored for broadcast in Japan. So I Can't Play H, R-15, etc. have obvious light beams. Total Eclipse has dark scenes over the gore. But Queen's Blade, etc. is not censored. There isn't much censored really, just a few shows.

i kinda hate when they censor eechi or harem, because that defeats the whole purpose of them.

like last season CR aired Dakara Boku wa Eechi ga Dekinai! (so, i can't play H!) and the screen was white for a 1/4 of some of the episodes. (great series by the way, check it out if you feel like it)

if you're going to censor eechi or harem, then don't air it in the first place.

Over the past decade, Japan's moral police always pounce whenever they see something indecent or harmful to children. Anime industry exploited the situation by releasing DVD/Blue Ray uncensored version thus milking the fandom even more.
