I guess when it comes to measuring how many facts a person knows then yes, they are accurate. But i think theres more to knowledge than just knowing a bunch of facts.

Facts? There were no facts I needed to know on my iq test, except aritmethics on one or two. Facts would be simply about knowledge.

The IQ test evaluate some skills that define the intelligent... But the IQ test don't represent the intelligent of a person

I will keep it simple. No they are not, it is dealing with a human mind that many factors that are at work on it at all the time. I always get at least 142, and never lower, and I know I am most likely not that smart.

Apparently people here has taken unreliable iq tests. So I would advise you to take a reliable one. Taking an unreliable one, and complaining about it, is not criticism of the iq test per se, as this discussion is about.

I believe this is as close as you can get when you want accuracy.
And it's relatively easy to understand. I, myself, got into the measly percent that the really smart people are in:D sth over 200 of a score, I believe.

So take the test, and let me know!

yeah..i agree...and im not buying their claims of having scored 140-something...i mean, duh? you have to pay an amount of money first before you can get to take a REAL iq test...so they actually paid how many times? it would be ridiculous to take an iq test for no reason if that's the case...it should either be, that one is applying for a scholarship, or taking an entrance exam to whatever school/university, or applying for a certain profession...

most of the people here must've taken online iq tests only---which are not credible ...

IQ tests or total bullshit made by bullshit people! Nothing determines someone's intelligence in it.
It's just a total piece of crap that degrades your own IQ if anyone believes in this.

There is no Accuracy at all. Believe me. I had those discussion's before, with genuine people. So I can't be wrong. A person with a lot of worse results can be a lot smarter than a one that scores perfect! IQ tests are insult to humanity and other way by calling somone for stupid, if she/he scores low. total junk

Albert Einstein was pretty smart...no question, but he was wrong a lot, too. He also had a difficult time with math. His particular brand of genius was to be able to see things from a unique point of view, and to explain that point of view to others.

Lots of people with high IQ's don't achieve anything, and lots of people with low IQ's become great. It has as much to do with drive and perserverence as it does with actual intellect.

When I was in jr. high school, I was tested and came out in the high teens/low twenties (about 118 to 122), but my last test put me at 142-144, depending on the subject. Why such a difference? Several things...1) I practice. I've read more, I've learned more, I've done more puzzles, and learned how to do puzzles. 2) confidence. I believe in myself a lot more now, so I naturally achieve more. 3) life experience. Never doubt that life can teach you a great deal, and expand your understanding.

As a measurement, for clinical purposes, I think IQ tests are valid. I don't, however, think that they should be used to judge anyone, nor do I think that a persons worth should be placed on how "intelligent" they are.
