So, are there any Filipino bands known in other countries? I only know Rivermaya having that kind of reputation but what about the others? Of course its not internationally known but I would definitely love to hear that other people from other countries listen to them.

Oh and you can post the band/bands that you like here.

I like Urbandub and Rivermaya. I used to like Spongecola but lately they've been turning into something I don't like.

I totally agree on the Spongecola thing. They used to make good music but now, (in my opinion at least), they're turning commercial.

hmm
spongecola [they're great, their songs have cool lyrics and its obvious because some of them were literature major, ithink]
urbandub
sandwich
[experimental, but sometimes idontlike it when the vox[raimundmarasigan] was trying to imitate ROBERT SMITH of THE CURE] love their songs masilungan and procastinator!
Radioactive sago project [some may find them corny, but listen to what their songs were really up to]
[b]effinboiche,imago,paramita
[GIRLPOWER, they were AMAZING]
UTAKAN [another poetic band]
DAY ONE MOVEMENT [cause i love vj sib!] lol! and their music were also great though his voice was a little grunge!

true... sponge is sort of different nowadays, started with tuliro which had a different style, but tuliro was good but still, compared to their first hits like jeepney, KLSP, i'd go for the first hits. their rendition of nakapagtataka was really successful as well...

i'd go for hale, session road, and paramita

in baguio, there are some bands performing in radio stations like klite baguio... i love listening to entablado, banda ni lori, and memory lane...

also, last but not the least, 6cyclemind ^_^

Sandwich isn't trying to be experimental. he's (Raymund) commercializing the independent music scene. dance-y pop/rock songs

what a shame

if you ever happen to like Sandwich before the Five on the Floor era, then you'll know how this band can offer so much if they haven't been a sell out.
