For fucks sake if you don't wanna say it then don't say it.

I will never understand why it's such a big issue. No one forces you to say it > you have every right to not say it, just as you should have the right to say it wherever you wish. And, if you so choose, don't say God, say something else, like "one nation under the sky" or some shit like that.

agreed. it's that simple.

It's your right to not say it. Any teachers or other staff that tell you otherwise are lying. There's a supreme court case that upheld a person's right to not say the pledge of allegiance. The name of the case is West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette.

I am wondering, does that apply to private schools as well?

I think it should still apply to private schools. I don't know much about the specifics but even a private school shouldn't be able to take away a person's rights.

Dude this country was founded by fucking Christians and thats why everything has God in it. People need to stop being gay ty and just realize that they're living in a country of freedom founded by Christians and they should just be happy to be here and not complain about shit. No one forces anyone to do shit. Stupid fuck don't have anything better to do.

Wrong, most of the founding fathers were Deists, not Christians

Offshoot, big deal. The point is no one's pressuring anyone to believe in anything and if anyone takes offense then they should see someone about their delicate sensibilities.

what kind of answer is that?

"The point is no one's pressuring anyone to believe in anything"

Right, then explain to me why it was decided to add the 'under God' only until 1954? and why most people had no idea the founding fathers were not in the category of Christian that they think they were? Is not about pressure or force, is about subtleties; each of them adds up and that changes culture.

they should just be happy to be here and not complain about shit

Everything has to be questioned or challenged sooner or later. It's what produces change. Cultures here are mixing more and more and so are religious beliefs, not to mention globalization. Point is...things get outdated eventually and when the social institutions don't catch up to adapt to it, the society starts questioning, debating, etc, what to do about it. It's how it society works, and how culture develops....It has happened since the beginning of civilization and the notion of 'be grateful dont complain' is a mere illusion. We all question, we all complain, you may not do it with this particular thing, but im pretty sure you do it in one way or another.

You're right and I did go on a rant I guess, I have no qualms with you. I just hate annoying people that make a big deal out of something so insignificant. Thats all.
