hmm.. i know why many ppl dun really like sg drama.. cos they are not entirely 4 youngsters~ haha.. jdrama and tdrama (which i've been so much attracted to) involves alot of scenes that made me all fired up~ (example: kurosagi) sg drama is made out frm the concept that its for kids, elderly and teens.. so involve some storylines which adults and elderly finds interesting while some teens find boring~

thats what my friend told me when we discuss this topic in sch ^^ and i find it quite true

actresses/actors in sg dun haf good acting skills...when they try to act gangster shows, they dun even look like gangster n when they try to act high class shows, they dun even bother to dreesed up in high class clothes to make the show looks more realistic

Sg actors acting bad? taiwan actors are worse... but show still pipping hot... its a popularity thing which decides a person's mentality towards the show la...

shows like china dramas are more unpopular in SG... because no one knows who the actors are...
Anyone watch china shows? shows like "For the sake of the republic" and "Yong zhen huang chao"?

Haha typical SG, title oso got broken english....lol anyway, i think it's getting boring and those new actors and actresses just doesn't make the cut, they just got the looks? Their acting is not that good and it affects the show.....but the one airing at channel 8, 9pm NOW(ending son though), that one...i find it not tooooo bad.

Actually chinese productions don't only consist "For the sake of the republic" and "Yong zhen huang chao", they do have those jinyong classics like 神雕 and 射雕英雄传. They are pretty popular and are much better remakes since they boast of better scenery. Also, I do watch “走向共和“ and “三国演义” too.

I guess our singaporean production can only make genres dealing with our everyday life. They no longer produce those 古装戏。And watching this everyday life genre on tv with the usual cliches is already boring, to make matter worst some of these becomes movies.

I do wish they do produce something more interesting. I guess they had run out of ideas. I totally dun watch the tv unless I am totally bored to death. Sometimes the actors/actresses' acting are not even good. I would much rather do something else.

I find that the plots of the taiwan shows are rather the same somehow.

Taiwanese dramas have two typical types: One purely based on idols (公主小妹) while the other is trying to compete for the most number of episodes for tv series. Just think of 霹雳火。( But i think the current winner is "Days of our lives" No. of episodes 10,784 as of March 17, 2008 - Running since nov 1965)

Those are chinese productions, what i meant was chinese productions have much better and more genres to screen than ours since they have a larger population to screen to.

But even if the dramas are that bad, i guess only singapore english sitcoms are still watchable.
