There are so many miscoseptions on what a kiss on the cheek means

I find a kiss on the cheek as a show of brotherly-sisterly affections not like dating love, but like a sibling or relative love. at the most I find it as a friendly gesture. I usually only kiss someone on the cheek as a sign of respect/ love for a brother or sisterly figure. I don't use kissing on the cheek as a sign that I like some one as more then a friend.
One of my friends saw me do this to one of my older brother figure friend, and they thought that I liked them....So I guess the question here is what do you think a kiss on the cheek means

I kiss everyone on the cheek. To me, it's like a greeting. I like them better than hugs

The meaning of a kiss on the cheek to me actually changed over time. At first, I used to think the normal stereotype that it was meant to show that you really like someone, but now, I do it as a way to greet a family member. I also use it as a way to thank someone for something important they've done to or for me.

Yeah I guess it's a greeting, but that depends on who's giving the kiss and who is receiving it. I've gotten a kiss on a cheek and to my mind (in my dreams) it has felt like more.

I see at as a small way of saying you love someone romantically..maybe because I'd prefer that over some big sloppyish kiss. Though it can stand for other things--my family members'll kiss each other on the cheek and my best friend always does the same with me. But this is how I see it, or how I'd want it to be.

What is the point of this? It is a cultural thing, Its meaning will vary depending on what social environment you are around.
