What if N.Korea joined with S.Korea? The combined resources would create a formidable super power in the Far East, greater than Japan. N.Korea's military with S.Korea's economics, N.korea's raw materials with S.Korea's tech. All those qualities backed by a military filled with highly trained soldiers. I'm talking about regular N.Korean women having the ability to assemble a rifle blindfolded. Not to mention the mandatory 3-year military service by the S.Korean government. Japan is scared, trying to make N.Korean look "evil" in contrast to the "good" S.Korea. Besides N.Korea abucts anyone, their not bias.

There is a ministry in S. korea called "ministry of unification"wherein both parties discuss future plans if the both sides unite. hold talks about sharing resources and economic agenda.

But still That ministry is more of a fantasy. its future is uncertain and Infinite. because of the following reasons

1.) North Korea and South korea are still at war. they Haven't signed any single peace treaty or any paper wich contained "peace" what they only signed was only a "Cease-fire Agreement"

2.) If uniting in terms of Resources, Korea's economic rate would stay the same, or even so, will worsten because there will be more people (especially the impoverished ones near the Chinese border) to feed.

3.) Most of North Koreas Raw materials comes from China. that maybe a good deal to the south. the problem about north is that It keeps relying on china for Raw materials or any other chinese made products. There was a Law (about to be passed) in china stating that they will stop supplying NK materials.

4.)what North Korea doesnt like in the unification's agreement is the Presence of US troops. the reason why the U.S. is in North Korea is because it is to Overlook the ceasefire agreement and to make sure it is in effect

5.)Obviously the reason there wasnt any unification plans yet is because it is uncertain who will lead the penninsula. If china wasnt there, hence no support for NK and the South wins leadership. If the U.S. or the U.N. isnt there to support the south, Hence North Korea with china's support will win the penninsula's leadership and there will be a communist Korea who think Kim Jong Ill is God and the "book of junche Idea is their bible"

Hope y'all are refreshed from what I've learned.

P.S. if you think this is Copy pasted, Think again. North korean politics was part of our cover research in my class back then.

As for Megumi yokota. It is Uncertain that she commited suicide. the yokota Family denies the information about her death.

North Korea has a long history of Lies and Deceptions. they deny any involvment of Yutaka Kume and Minoru Tanaka. as much as treating POWs in the Korean War "according to the Geneva Convention"

POWs released from NK prison camps claimed that they were treated as "Pigs". Ofcourse the NK denies it and said they have "followed the terms of the geneva convention". and the lies goes on and on and on and on.

they Claim they have "defeated the US and Skorean in the War singlehandedly...." If i was China, I'd be heartbroken. What-if china wasnt there to support the North in the war? would they still say "Singlehandedly defeated the US and their korean Puppet?" I pity the chinese, not the North.

Not true. When 2 estranged countries, especially with one country being a poor-as-dirt shithole unite, the result is an economic recession. A good example is the reunification of Germany. Even though the richer western countries poured money into the reunification, the influx of people from East Germany into West Germany put a huge strain on the economy. It did smooth out after a while though. So unified Korea does have the potential to become a serious force in the asian economy, but it would take a long time and much investment in repairing North Korea.

South Korea is prospering because of the U.S.'s support, and N. Korea is festering because of the lack of support (and the lunatic asian elvis impersonator holding all the power.) While N. Korea is a highly military nation, the military isn't that great. In order to fight effectively, you need food. And weapons. And shoes. And Food.

And Japan has plenty reason to be scared. A great many of our older Korean folks are still quite sore over some certain events that occurred in WWII. They are actually physically sore :P
And us Koreans are hardly sociable folk. Just take a gander at the nation's history. Actually it is amazing that Korea still exists. In fact, if the germans hadn't torpedoed that U.S. ship, then my parents would be speaking Japanese right now.

The troops in South Korea are not really there for the ceasefire agreement. They are their to maintain U.S. capitalist control over the peninsula. The Korean peninsula has always been a very important piece of land. So the communists and capitalists split it in half, as a kind of neat solution for the tension problem.

That abduction sob story happens all the time, in multiple countries.

And 1984 does not even vaguely resemble N. Korea. Where did you get that idea?

Waa, you dont know you'll be the next person that will be abducted by the CIA accused of some heinous crimes. The thing is "abducting" is supposed to be discreet. NK just did theirs "not gingerly" but "restlessly", there are probably a lot of countries and secret agencies that are abducting people for some unfathomable reasons.

Many people here are so biased... I'm not defending North Korea or anything, but you can't necessarily say that North Korea is bad. You probably got that image because the media and the government wants you to think that way. The media never talks about the "bright" side of communism and good things about it, and only concentrates on criticizing it, so that everyone who are capitalists would disapprove of communism. Just as we are taught that communism is bad, North Koreans are taught that capitalism is bad also. Just as the North Korean government feed the citizens "biased" and "modified" information about capitalism, capitalist countries feed its citizens "biased" and "modified" information as well. Therefore, it is impossible to say which country is good or bad.

I get you dear. dont feel down and yes its true that the media doesnt show the true side of a stalinist country. Indeed Our governments always say to us bad things about a troubled state. its Propaganda. its a fair fight, even the North say bad things to US or other countries. that Is why we couldnt tell who's who in the game of cops and robbers.

to know the true image of a Country we further analyze it through research. because you know the media, they sometimes lie to attract viewers. =)

You got a kind heart, but crying won't help, within your power, do something about it.
If you can't take these things, then don't watch it, there are far more cases like this and far sadder things. If you witness them all, you probally want to die. It seem like you live in a la-la world where everyone hold hands, unknown to the cruel reality. :(

Plus it's 30 years ago, why cry now?

um what?!? crying about issues as sad as this means alot! Shows that you do have a heart and how human your are which is saying alot compared to other people. And not everyone is strong enough to take a stand you know..

And just cuz it's happend 30yrs ago makes no difference if it happend last year.
I guess just cuz the holocaust occured over 30yrs we should just get over what happend? Lets just remove all Holocaust Memorial Museums across the country and deny the death of 6million jews while were at it. Thats pretty much what your saying.
