I am writing a book and its based in the future after this war (yeah, I know it sound cliche, but its far more complicated than it sounds)

Anyways- the story on its own is rather serious. Lots of death, violence, killing...more violence, some love, money, brainwasing, evolution of man- etc. So I thought I might implement something for comic relief.

In the book, religion is deemed unethical. All previous religions are banned. Its been many years since the war and various articles from the past are excavated, some guy finds a book. He dust off the cover and it says "Dr. Seus" For some odd reason there is no record of Dr seus (i actually have a reason, it would just take a long time to explain.) He starts to read it and finds the morals to be particularly enlightening. So, some stuff happens, bam bam bam, and theres protest to make Dr. Seus a religion.

I want to make them like one of those religious groups that go door to door trying to preach their religious beliefs. I thought people might get a chuckle out of it. I was wondering what the rest of you think about actually making Dr. Seus a religion in my story.

If, I'm breaking any rules, you can call me on it... that way I dont break any more next time. Thank you

The story really doesnt revolve around this I just thought there needed to be something funny in there. This seemed pretty funny

I'm a big fan of Dr. Seus. The stuff he's written is for the most part deeper than what you read in highschool. "Oh, The places you go!" was a great story as well as "Horton hears a who". "the Grinch" was very well written, however I'n not qute sure how to work around the christmas thing...

I personally dont enjoy reading everything- but I love to write so I thought, why not write a book.

I wanted to ask this because I didn't know if it was stupid or not. I thought it was clever but I wasnt sure... It seems that people like the idea And in my opinion, Dr. Seus would make a great religion!!

He probably would be a great source of a religion or cult. But I gotta ask....which book would they have to recite (like the Catholics saying their "Hail Mary's....) when they would pray. I vote for HOP ON POP.
