It mainly depends on how the fillers are organized, and how much it relates to the anime or how much supporting information it gives you. For example, in Da Capo, there are very few fillers, and most of these fillers appear after the main part of the storyline for the episode once it is done, so they don't usually make a whole episode a filler episode. However, in Da Capo, fillers have almost nothing to do with the main storyline, and usually dont give any supporting information, besides one filler which was a character profile.

Another variable in the "quality" of the "filler experience", is how many times it occurs in the anime. If there are only a few fillers scattered across the anime, it usually is bearable. However, it fillers appear after every episode, it can become very tedious, and very annoying, very quickly.

As for the last variable, it has to with your tolerance to fillers, and what may be in them. Personally, I have a very high tolerance to fillers, and I usually enjoy them, no matter how many occur, and even if it has nothing to do with the main storyline.

fillers...are ok after a long 50+ episode main story arc. they're also ok if they provide information about the story of the anime or of the characters. but too many gives me a headache...

Fillers arn't so much of an issue for me, however I found that fillers become really annoying when theres either:
- A long stream of them that serves no purpose atall.
- When the fillers are really really lame or pointless.
- When they put a filler during the middle of multiple episode fights. Eargh that is just cruel...

Depends on what kind of fillers we're talking about. If it's the 'take a break from the series' type where the characters go off and have some crazy adventure that barely has anything to do with the core of the story, I don't mind. Sometimes it's fun to watch characters with specific (usually rigid) persona's get thrust into a situation where they have to alter slightly. Usually towards the more slapstick.

If it's a clip-show filler, I got no love for those. If you can't remember what happened 2,5,10+ episodes ago, then you need to go back and watch it. This is even moreso apparent when I'm waiting for episodes to air fresh off of the press and that weeks episode is a clipshow.
