That was a few months ago. Anyone who tried to watch the last episode of School Days or is a Higurashi fan knows this.

Can't really see the connection. Did they see it? Higurashi is aired really late at night (2 am I think) in Japan. Probably School Days is also aired late.

The girl apparantly had problems with her dad. Dunno about the boy, that's news to me.

wtf...... wow, I love the series but the only reason to do that is if you're a dumbass, honestly, in the series a LOT of people die, but they aren't revived, they do NOT survive, the only person revived is rika, who moves on to anouther world where everyone is still alive, which obviously cannot happen in real life. these kids are retarded, even in higurashi THEY STILL DIE! it's either a coincidence or these kids are retarded...... OMG!!!!! NOW THAT NARUTO IS LICENSED ALL THE NARUTARDS HAVE TO FIND ANOUTHER INSANLY SUICIDAL SERIES TO IMITATE!!!!! ZOMG!!!!! EVERYONE RUN AS FAR AS YOUR LEGS CAN CARRY YOU IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with blaming anime for the problem, is that no one in their right minds would commit murder, no matter how much violent TV they watch. Anyone who was inspired to murder by Higurashi or School Days, was someone who would have commited murder anyway.

oh because of those incidents that happen, a few anime got effected by it. For example u see dark DARK red blood in bleach and the same goes for Naruto... Higurashi no Naku Koro Nii season 1 opening had regualr colored blood, but after to a certain episode the blood change to black if i remember correctly...

uh.. i dont think they did change the blood color actually ^^;;
anyways other stations still aired the series

I don't think there is an influence between anime like School Days or Higurashi and the killings which happened.

I think Higurashi is definitely a violent anime but, isn't it intended for a mature audience that would be able to grasp the concept of the story? I don't think anime can influence a normal kid in that way. The kid was probably already a little screwed up in the head. It's too bad they didn't notice it before...

[UPDATE]: 12th Episode of Higurashi 2, School Days Final Episode Canceled
Following a recent murder case where a 16-year-old girl killed her father with an axe, Tokai TV canceled screenings of the anime, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. The anime contains violent scenes and in one of them, a scene where a girl is swinging an axe. Fearing unpleasant comments from the public, officials from the broadcast station had decided to go ahead with this decision. The status of any future airing of this series is unknown.

As for the anime, School Days, many broadcasters canceled the final episode due to a scene following this event.

[UPDATE]: Another axe attack had occured. This time by a 15-year-old boy. The father survived. While Tokai TV chose this path, other stations had decided the latter and aired the 12th episode.

Kids that cannot distinguish between reality and fiction has more underlying problems than watching animes. It's just easier for the media to find a scapegoat for their social problems since it's much easier to pinpoint. People don't like to admit that there is a underlying social problem that cannot be fixed as simply as banning the broadcast or partially censoring the episodes of more violent shows or by forbidding the sale of violent games.

For someone to commit murder let alone Patricide must have a motive to do so if said person is mentally sane. The motive for such an act would require a lot more than influence from a video game or a TV show, unless that person already has untreated psychological problems.

its so stupid is not the animes fault its the kids and their parents this just show that parents dont pay attention to their children honestly i dont think that girl or that guy picked up an axe randomly and tried to kill their parents there must have been other reasons behind it there must have been signs of this coming because i seen both those animes and i havent killed anyone
