Well back when I attempted to draw anime I used the internet, then a book, then I just did it by myself because I got sick of just copying it

i've got How to Draw Manga Volume 1,2,28,39,special coloured original drawing and bishoujo pretty gal
you can get them in major bookstores or online but i admit they are pretty expensive x_O
and they can be quite boring sometimes and a bit outdated but it's detailed and great for the basics

they are other book series that helps drawing manga to choose from as well (lots of them to be honest)
so you don't necessary need the How to Draw Manga series also depending on what area of manga you are trying to learn

I highly dislike those 'how to draw manga' books. All commercialism, no professionalism. Some of them are good resources, like the CG and Painter manual that focused more on the computer part of art, or the extremely specific ones (one book dedicated to fighting poses, one to miko outfits and maids, etc.)

Just do it the normal way, dammit. Manga is really not that different from learning how to draw normally. Give that some practice, then try your hand at manga. You'll turn out better that way.

Sample of my work (which did not come from any manuals):

Somehow I like your drawings, they're unique, I especially like the eyes :)

The first time I saw them, I was like :"WTF ARE THESE?! EWWW!" I responded as so because I thought the way they were showing and teaching things in the books not very well... ;P I never really used them for anything, until I got one for Christmas.. I only use them for inspiration now (like when they show examples for clothing and poses...) Some are actually really well done now that I've seen more. :3
