Any book that "teaches" you how to draw manga are pretty much useless all of them. The only thing you may remember from those are the most basic things like putting up guidelines when drawing head, body etc etc. Not to mention these books are expensive too.
^ Spoke from experience. No, just learn how to draw on your own pace instead. These books are useless, really. |

My aunt bought me one of those types of books but it was one of the crappy American ones. I only really looked at it once and never really tried to do anything. I personally thought I got better just by doodling and looking at a lot of pictures and photographs.

Was the book made by Scholastic? If it was... It was terrible! I bought both of them and it wasn't that helpful at all....Also, I didn't like the art

I kept drawing Sasuke over and over again. I got used to drawing his eyes. From then on, I use his eye shape and turned them into my own style. Same with the females.
These two are my original characters that I use. I finished that one, I am working on a new one. |

I have only a few Lets Draw Manga books, they seem to be hard to find, and one of the books I need costs about 100+ USD.. anyway back to topic
I first drew without looking at any books, didn't go so well.. so I tried to copy from another drawing to practice, went much better. Going by the books is a lot easier, since it shows you where to start, how to draw it, and how to do it correctly. The outcome is better than you would expect. |

Practice practice practice.....draw everything
change styles to your taste simplify invest in gum erasers, pencils and really good pens and don't be afraid to copy anothers style you'll know after years of this and mountains of paper if you want to still do manga. now it's time to be you... ![]() ![]() |
