people who dig up corpses

either for fun, to collect valuables left with the corpse, collecting parts for rituals or whatnot ... or just plain and disturbing necrophilia

I think there is a fortune to be made in coffin security systems.

Its a good way to hawk jewelry thats gonna be wasted and make some quick cash. As for corpse fuckers.... well uh, I dont know, let those sick bastards do their thing... just be safe and get your relatives cremated.

Too much TV? Don't think many scientists go around digging up corpses. Since they have their own to work on, and they are in much better conditions than ones that are buried too.

yes, it is TV. I was watching a documentary about a scientist fighting to work on a dead body in egypt, but they wouldnt allow it, saying the gods would get mad since that person was a sacrifice. But at night he snuck in and stole a few small bones without anyone knowing. I thought to myself "what an asshole"

The dead body was newly killed or was it an ancient corpse? Since if it is the latter, I don't think they have many spares. Well the without anyone knowing part is obviously proven false since it was aired on TV.

you know .. i actually think the jewelery one is kind of acceptable ... i mean .. they arent doing anything to the corpse ... they return everything as it was and that gold or whatever will help someone who would go to such an extent to get it out lol

Dude, come on man use some common sense. Obviously they know now, you think the people were guarding the body went back in there the next and were like, " oh hes missing a tibia, no biggie, we must have missed the fact that he was a 1 legged sacrifice when we first dug him up". Nah dude, he stole the bones without them knowing, and obviously they realized after the fact that he had taken them. I'm sure if you were the one in charge of taking care of the body, there would be no need for the show, since you would be content in your ignorance not knowing he was missing a leg or other body part.

it was an ancient corpse, and although it was on tv. I doubt the people in egypt would see it being broad cast >___>
overall. I think some scientist are no different than grave diggers.

Ancient corpses are much more reasonable though. Not like his immediate family would care that much ;). The Egyptians still believe in the Egyptian gods? I thought that the religion has long died like the Greek ones.
