i would say yes to that question if male offspring still important to asian americans because my culture does. my culture cares more of the guys than the girls. but when it comes to marriage, that's only when we ladies are important.

From a distance, yeah, the guys are more important. This is mostly because only the guy can really carry down the family name (which is really important). Only because when a girl gets married, she must change her surname to that of her husband's, so she loses her family name, and her children don't take on the name either. That's mostly the main reason...nothing about "a guy can do more than a girl, blablabla".

But using technology to ensure the birth of a boy is low. Seriously.
